A quick hello to a few new friends that have graciously accepted adding me. smile Been playing GTA like a fiend.
Was one of my gifts this year, GTA San Andreas. Haven't started it yet as I never finished Vice City, so am working on that now.

Had a nice day out with the wife, going to Starbucks and buying gifts at Fnac. We have to give gifts to the inlaws for New Year's eve, as you don't exchange them for christmas. Apparently, christmas is for children in France. Which makes sense in a way. Speaking of France, GTA is kicking my ass in the humour department. If you've never played it you'll have to ask someone who has, but really play the game. It's just wrong. skull

Baby new year's on the way whatever hope my resolutions stick. Anyway, nothing can be as difficult as quitting smoking. Projects for the year, Lease two cars, buy a house, make money. Modest plans this year. tongue

Did I ever tell you I was a singer?

I guess that must have slipped my mind, somewhere
along the way I almost forgot I sang. Until I found my
voice today, singing an old song of mine.

Over the years I've done many "projects" and
also been in a few bands.

First it was punk rock, as back when I lived with my
parents at 14yo I couldn't do anything right for my
step father, i guess most people have similar stories
about step-monsters being actually aliens placed in
human skin to abuse their stepchildren and steal their
parents.

After the rage, only apathy. Got into Gothic music, particularly the oldschool Bauhaus, Siouxsie, Tones on
Tail, Sisters of Mercy and the rest. For many years I
wore black, went to the clubs, wore make-up.

One day I realized it didn't really work for me and only
guys were checking me out, so I ditched that scene for
the rivet-head crew. Spider stomper, EBM, Electro-Indus
Power noise. Identified with the music as have always loved
war films, loved neubauten since back in the punk days
so it came around full circle.

Having left the states and the UK, scenes, genres and things really don't amount to a hill of beans. Sure there are a few things to do, but most people don't take themselves so seriously here, and to be honest with you. It's refreshing.

There was a point in time I would be chastised by a particular group of people just for listening to Xtype of music that wasn't cool with the in-crowd. So glad none of this shit means anything to me any more.

Guess i felt like opening up with you folks. S/G's a pretty cool place. Much better than LJ. People are a bit more realistic, less prude. Will post some links to my newer music as soon as I am able.

Happy holidays, chanukkah, christmas, yule and solstice.

Everything's heating up, regardless of the frozen air outside.
The christmas shopping holiday has hit Paris in full swing.
Tomorrow I'll go to the in-laws house and get some awesome home cooked french food from my mother in law, the best part is she always asks me what i want and she makes it directly. Sometimes it's Canard au navet, Roti de dinde, gigot d'agneau, du rosbif, gratin de choufleur, whatever I want! My wife's family really spoils me and I'm glad, if it weren't for them my french would be absolute crap, and it's doing better. When Stephane and I go out we mostly speak in french (about 3/4 of the time) and then a 1/4 in english.

I bought C, my wife, 20 gifts this year mostly books, dvds, and cds. I don't like giving nice jewelry and big presents for christmas as I think that's better for a birthday or anniversary or some special occassion. Yes, christmas is special, but not a personally special day if you catch my driftwood mapelthorpe.

Had a nice night out in paris with my buddy haibane as usual we met up in beaubourg had a few coffes and walked through Fnac. It's strange when you know you're having a good time with somebody and the silences are good, the conversation isn't forced and the exchanges of ideas aren't a matter of one-upmanship.

I need for my workout routine 3 things (will list in order from least expensive to most)

1. A jump rope
2. A punching bag
3. Free weights

Being in a foreign country it's not as easy as you think to
find a good gym. I'm out in the suburbs and there are a
few here, but they're so fucking expensive when you consider that the euro is 1.32 to 1.00 dollar. So things that
would be okay in dollars turn into major expenses here.

I'm trying to write my own horiscope concerning money at the moment as I have something for sale that I got an offer on. The offer was too low, but I made a counter offer and am hoping the guy accepts. If not, oh well, i wasn't intending on selling it as cheaply as I countered anyway but the cash would be nice.

So much going on and yet so little. My life is always this mix between too much and too little. eeek It's a good thing my wife has a good job, or else we'd really have to move back to the states. With the present bastard in the office, that's not something I wanna do.

Allez, bises.

This entry is in french and deserves no translation as I was fucking drunk last night in a french bar speaking in french meeting nice french people. I was good, kept my eyes to myself even when I had a few approving looks. Ahh, paris. I got told again that I look like Kiefer Sutherland. In fact, every one of my ex-girlfriends had a crush on him. Coinkeedink? eeek

Went out today with *S*, had coffees and relaxed, spoke of many things and watched the people pass by.

Tres excitant, hein ? Ah la vie quotidien wink

Lo everyone,

This really doesn't translate into english. Or i'm feeling lazy, probably a bit of the two. Just got back from shopping at Ikea and got some cool ass shiznit. Well, okay, not that cool, but we're running out of place to put all the DVDs!! So, that's sorted fortunately, and also bought a chest of drawers for the bedroom as we're running out of place to put stuff. Hopefully this time next year we'll be in an actual house, for now this little apartment will have to do.

Ciao~

Just got back from Evesham for a weekend with some fellow gamers. Was good fun, having spent the last few years with a bunch of people i'd never met. Was more than a bit interesting. I suck in large social engagements thriving on situations from 2 to 5 people at maximum, but still managed to have a great time.

I took the train from Gare du nord (eurostar) the one that goes under the chunnel tunnel for 20 mins. It's slightly disconcerting having that much volume of liquid above your head, threatening to come crashing down at any moment, but this is just another of my phobias I say "shh" and tuck back into the back of my mind.

All the tea in the world, couldn't mate me hate England. <3
