We are about to head into the hottest week yet...with air temperature and humidity hitting the ceiling...and of course it is the night before the heatwave that one of our two AC units is not working.

Go figure - Murphy's Law.

Who is this damn Murphy guy anyway? Why is he always right on the worst possible things at the most inconvenient time? Damn...damn...damn you Murphy.

mad

Update:
We have an awesome HVAC guy. Called him this morning to report the problem with the unit, he came around by 11am, resolved the problem and didn't charge us. House main floor temp is now under control at 21c. Comfy without being too cold. Awesome!

Mathematician Augustus De Morgan on June 23, 1866 "Supplement to the Budget of Paradoxes," The Athenaeum no. 2017 page 836 col. 2 [and later reprints: e.g., 1872, 1915, 1956, 2000] wrote: "The first experiment already illustrates a truth of the theory, well confirmed by practice, what-ever can happen will happen if we make trials enough." In later publications "whatever can happen will happen" occasionally is termed "Murphy's law," which raises the possibility—if something went wrong—that "Murphy" is "De Morgan" misremembered (an option, among others, raised by Goranson on American Dialect Society list).

Yup, still moving to Vancouver sometime in August.
