I entered my first real big time poker tourney today at this bar near my work. Here's how it works. 36 participants each round, for 6 rounds. Final 6 from each walk away with money, and go to the Champion of Champions round, to win some BIG money.
I finished 6th place today, which qualifies me, but not with much confidence. So, I must wait for 3 more rounds to finish, then off to the final rounds I go.
Grand prize is still undetermined, but it's estimated in the $2000 range, which is a nice chunk of change, if I do say so.
Not that anyone cares about me being a big nerd.

Anyone that hasn't seen Angel's new set yet, should do so immediately!!

i came in third place in the poker tourney that i was referring to earlier, which qualifies me to the next one, with double money, and if i do well there, i can go to the finals with a winner take all pot, consisting of.. well.. alot of money, most likely in the range of $5000. we'll see how that goes..

sorry i haven't updated, no crazy question for today.. but a little update nonetheless..

so i get this call yesterday, totally out of the blue, from an ex of mine that i haven't spoken to in about a year. one of those "don't worry we'll still be friends and hang out" ex's right, so i answer the phone and have no idea what to expect. at first it was just a little, what's new, blah blah, you know, stupid small talk. then she tells me that she went out on new years to savage, met some guy, and they're getting married this summer. of course, i'm happy for her, that's great, but i'm thinking, why tell me after all this time? there had to be more to it..
turns out, that she wants me to DJ at her reception, because "only i know how to play the kind of music she likes".. soooooo.. i said sure.. i mean why not? obviously i'm not going to charge her, i do all my gigs for free.

so that's my story.. not that interesting but it's the most excitement that i've had in my life for awhile so there
