I was touring the town today and it was a smooth day. It was my first time on foot patrol. I got the pleasure of seeing some pretty talented people. A few musicians, dancers and artist. One that really got to me today was a little Indian boy whom was eleven years old. He was blind and you can tell he was not from a wealthy family. He sung a opera song in Arabic and although I had no idea what he was say, it was the prettiest song I have ever heard. (It seems like the most beautifulest songs you hear are in another language.) I must admit I teared up a little bit. Music is a powerful connection too interact with people.
After he sung we talked for like 2 hours. He told me about him and his families tough journey to America. He told me his singing help get his family across the sea and he loves sing and how he makes people happy. He also told me how he became blind. When he was seven years old in India in the town of Mumbai. He was forced to steal food from a market, the owner caught him and took him in the back of his store and burned his eyes out, which made him blind. I cant believe how people treat each.
But anyway I asked him how does he stay so strong. He told me as long as he has his family, and the voice to allow him to sing he will never give up on life and hope. I can not express the feelings Im feeling right now. It gives me hope that people can over come any obstacle. A lot of people tell me I'm their hero, but I believe the true hero's are people like this little boy, who doesn't give up on life, or any obstacle that comes your way. He is the true hero!

It has been a LONG week over work. But an over all great week. Again learned a lot and got some new experiences. I've got the great opportunity to work with some of the greatest officers in the state, and hear great rewarding stories.
I've heard that in my line of work and there is not much opportunity for reward; I beg to differ. I believe we can make a differences. We not only help the community, we help protect our rights of the constitution and upheld the laws govern. But besides all those great aspects we can help each other. (meaning those whom we work with), and I am talking about all law enforcement, from local, state, to federal. In the end there is no stronger family then the men and women in blue. It is unbelievable the bond we have. Unfortunately in my short line of work, we have lost members of our family in blue! And you can not believe how many of those in blue show up to the service and funeral. Hundreds of men and women from all different agencies show up to support both close families and civil families. I can not believe I'm apart of such a family. A sad day in law enforcement, but a strong bond.
P.S. My prayers are those effected in the Boston Marathon tragedy.

It has been a while since my last blog still trying to get used to my new schedule and working daily life into it, but I can not complain. I actually like going to work everyday; getting a change to help people out and learn new things. Today stopping by to get some coffee I held open the door for a few people, (which is not different for me than any other day) and I was offered from the cutest, sweetest little girl who offered to buy my coffee, and a course I refused, but just how she said it "I want to buy your coffee officer because you help keep my family safe"; was one of the proudest moments so far in my short career! Just knowing some people still appreciate the service we do. I know it might should cliche but, To serve and to protect, is what it's all about! People think I'm crazy having almost a master degree and in law enforcement, but I don't believe I can get the feeling I get helping people out if I was behind a big corporate desk. Not to mentioned carrying a gun is a plus! lol
Today's adventure took me on my first day as an officer. Was not a bad day at all. Heard some crazy stories from criminals and did you know that they are ALL innocent? lol at least that is what they think. But it was a great experience and I learn some new things.

I am finally an officer of the law. Boot camp was tough, but now the real challenge begins. I can not wait! I am ready to protect the citizens of NJ and all around. Words can not express my deepest appreciation towards my family and friends for the their support and encouragement throughout this process. I could not have been any more blessed. My life is at a high point.
In the words of an instructor. We always win!

I know it has been awhile since my last blog! I should have plenty of time to start soon. I have one more week of boot camp and I start my new career. It's been a long 14 weeks. From getting yelled at consistently, 150 to 200 push-ups a day, to getting punched in the face multiple times to getting massed. But it will all be worth it in the end. I already notice a huge change in my demeanor and lifestyle. I have never went thorough a tougher challenge. I will soon be known as an officer. And I'm stoked!
Getting ready for another LONG week at boot camp! Only six more weeks left and I can not wait.
I started defensive tactics last Friday and will continue this week. I am sore! But I am learning a lot. So far we learned take downs, how to fall correctly without hurting ourselves, and throwing punches correctly. This week will we continue with what we have learned; plus arm locks, leg locks, chock holds, hand cuffing, cell interactions, baton training, and how to use and getting sprayed with OC (Pepper spray) So a long week ahead of me, but nevertheless it will all be worth it in the end.

This is my first blog, so I apologize if I am doing this wrong! I am waiting for Hurricane Sandy to hit Jersey and I figured I would blog about my encounters, at least until I'm shut down!
I live in Millville, NJ a population about 20,000. State of emergence was already announced before the storm has even passed the Delaware Bay. With one major grocery store you can imagine the chaos; there was even a line to get into the parking lot. As I enter the store to stock up on the essentials they were sold out of water, bread, can goods, (even the bad ones) within hours.
