This is my first blog, so I apologize if I am doing this wrong! I am waiting for Hurricane Sandy to hit Jersey and I figured I would blog about my encounters, at least until I'm shut down!

I live in Millville, NJ a population about 20,000. State of emergence was already announced before the storm has even passed the Delaware Bay. With one major grocery store you can imagine the chaos; there was even a line to get into the parking lot. As I enter the store to stock up on the essentials they were sold out of water, bread, can goods, (even the bad ones) within hours.

The craziness in Virginia started Thursday and Friday. Richmond was declared in a State of Emergency Friday. We flood here. Besides a quick power flicker nothing's been too nutty other than people. If people calmed down about these things they wouldn't be half so bad. Get supplies, go home. Wait for the storm to pass, assess the damage, check on loved ones, begin the clean up.

I agree....people always take it out of control. we get a lot of rain but lucky I live above sea level, but I have to deal with a lot of trees falling down. But I'm ready for it, and give me a chance to actually have a peaceful moment. Take out some of the old books, read and relax!
