I am super excited to get out of St Cloud for a while. it used to be a monthly thing going down there and hanging out for a day but now its like every two or three months. Typically we go get some food, see a movie, or go read at a cool coffee shop. The main point really is just to get the fuck out of this town which is not very big at all 67000 and some change from the census in 09 there isnt a lot to do because of that. Well that and other things. But the population isnt great enough to support businesses alternative to shitty cooperate places like star bucks. In addition to that its very much a car town. The theater is 5 miles from downtown and the metro isnt that great.
Alright enough bitching about the town I live in. food is a pretty big deal to me. I chiefly love Asian cuisine such a Thai, Korean, and the like. I get to go this place that I really think will be amazing. IT is Taiwanese/Hakka cuisine that offers a huge amount of vegan and vegetarian options http://www.evergreen-chinese.com/index.html. Getting back on the no meat horse is really important to me but I really want to try some meaty things they serve like these Jellyfish Salad
Pickled strips of jellyfish and daikon., Chinese Herb soup A traditional Chinese medicinal soup, made with medicinal herbs in pork broth., Three Cup Chicken Chicken legs cooked with rice wine, soy, and sesame oil, loads of garlic and ginger, and fresh Thai basil.. But if I am going to do the no meat thing then this is an amazing place to do it. Taiwan is really a great place for Zen so its not terribly surprising that their cuisine supports vegans/vegetarians.
The buddy who I am going with really wants to go to this place: http://seasalteatery.wordpress.com/hours/ I for the most part really hate seafood but basically we are trading picks for restaurants we are going to mine first. I know I just got done talking about jellyfish salad but I would put good money on me hating it.
I am very tired also have terrible heart burn so I am might write another entry when is less work putting together a full sentence.
