So it's been a while since I've done one of these. I always seem to get distracted by life and forget they even exist until someone's blog piques my interest. Then I remember, "oh yeah, I can write those too!" xD
So I'm still at Naval Station Great Lakes, although now on the LESS hellish side of the base. Currently on week 7 of ATT (Apprentice Technical Training) which is basically the introductory electronics course that most of the technician rates take before going on to their A-School. For some rates ATT is as short as 5-6 weeks. For FCs? 10 weeks. WOOOOO... blargh.
So I spend a lot of my time split between studying (not really), doing homework (occasionally), and standing watch/attending bullshit mandatory events (MOST of my time). With a little free time sprinkled in there on the weekends. Just got phase 2 liberty and I'm looking to do a little more exploring of Chicago and the surrounding area with this added freedom, so if anyone knows of cool places to go, or interesting things to do (fuck the skydeck) PLEASE let me know. I'm open, and in fact begging, for suggestions. Otherwise, knowing me, I'll probably just wander from bar to bar until one seems to fit, and then just keep going to the same place every time I leave base.
