Hey, kids. Your Friendly Neighborhood Freak is back after a brief hiatus.

Here's the story...

Your Humble Narrator's been having some stuff stress him out as of late, so I decided I needed to go anon for a bit. After I got to work today (where I really didn't feel like being anywho), I decided to take some paid time to get the day off, and I went back home. When I got back here, I turned to my apartment, which I have been neglecting as of late where cleaning is concerned. So, I put myself to work.

I scrubbed my kitchen floor (I ♥ the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Mop, because I'm a little corporate shill like that), I did dishes, laundry, and I started getting junk around the Humble Commode sorted out. After that (and also after a shower and shave, which always improves my mood), I felt I had accomplished a good amount today. And I felt better about myself in the process. I was able to step away, take my stress, and turn it towards taking care of stuff I needed to do. Still a lot to do, but there's nothing wrong w/clearing a few hurdles in one run. wink

Long story short, I'm back (and sooner than expected), though I may not be posting as much as you're used to for the near future. Just need to try and prioritize until I get more accomplished. I'm OK, so don't worry too much, k? I'll be alright in the long run. Just need to sort stuff out (and not stress to the point of breaking so much). smile

What had I been up to before now?

Well, three-day weekend was relaxing, for the most part. I spent way too much time on YouTube watching episodes from the beginning of this '80s classic...

Yes, I'm well aware. Don't judge me. tongue

Also, with my birthday this Thursday, I figured I'd give whoring my wishlist another shot. Because, well, I'm a dork and I like receiving dorky gifts. biggrin

That's all for now kids. I'm alive, I'm hanging in there and, as always, I hope you are all well. smile

Stay tuned...

Hey, kids! It's another update from Your Friendly Neighborhood Freak.

How am I, you ask? Well, besides the fact my Interweb connection decided to crap out on me in the middle of writing this (had to unplug the modem and restart to get back on...it's been doing that more than I'd like as of late mad ), I'm pretty decent.

Well, as I mentioned in my last blog, I am in the process of seeing a counselor. I have an appointment early next month to start going through the motions and whathaveyou. I'm hoping it'll be a good step towards improving myself as a person. For those of you that left me messages wishing the best of luck to me, I thank you. You guys rule like that. kiss

Second...more snow. After several days of weather ranging from the 40's to 60's(!!!), it looks like we're back to the regular ole' New England winter, with (apparently) more to come on Friday.

Seriously, Mother Nature is a tease and a whore. There, I said it. tongue

On the SG front, since I am finally able to upload videos again, I'm now able to show you the goodness that is the teaser for thefreak's Video Blog - Episode #2. Enjoy!

I swear, I've all but diverted from a vlog state of mind these past couple months. Hopefully I have an easier (and more hilarious) time of it than Episode #1.

Also, I'm working on getting my groups all updated and active again.

Also also, w/my 26th birthday a mere 10 days away, I figured it was high time for me to direct whoever may be interested to my brand spanking new wishlist.

Yes, I know my tastes are "unique," but that's why you all love me, right? wink

Lastly, judging from the reception to "PORKCHOP SANDWICHES!" in my last blog, I figured I'd post a few more humorous dubs of those classic G.I. Joe public service announcements (what is it w/80's cartoons and trying to teach life lessons?).

Ahh, how I adore YouTube. Just sayin'.

That's all for now, kids. As always, I hope you are all well. biggrin

Stay tuned...

Hey, kids! It's another update from Your Friendly Neighborhood Freak.

It's been a bit of busy time for Your Humble Narrator as of late. Some of it good, some of it not so much (more on that later). As for the rote stuff, work is the same, but going well, still getting the homestead clean little by little, still a big video game and Interweb geek as always.

So, what's different, you ask?

Well, on a personal level (this is where the "not so much" part comes in)...

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
I have basically come to a crossroads. I need to learn how to handle my own shit before it ends up destroying me and destroying relationships w/people I care about, because I'm always dumping my shit on them. Remember those blogs where I basically ranted and had what I thought were "moments of clarity?" Uh, yeah, seems those didn't stick as much as I would've liked them to. I will wholeheartedly admit my stress levels can be insane, and my coping skills (more often than not) suck. As of late, it's taken finding out that my actions and behavioral patterns have damaged friendships w/people I hold dear in my life to realize I can't do it alone anymore, and that I need to put aside what little misplaced personal pride I have if I'm going to fix it. Come my next day off, I'm making phone calls to get referred to a counselor, shrink, whathaveyou. I don't like the person I'm becoming. I don't like how negatives and worst case scenarios that are all in my head can rule my daily life. I just need to admit I need help, and not think less of myself because of it. It's something I need to do.

So, please, if you read all that, wish me the best of luck. It would be appreciated.

*whew* Now that we've got the unpleasant out of the way, on to better things.

Some of you may have noticed that the Newswire has gone through some exciting changes. One of those...is this:

zoom image

That's right, kids! Yours Truly has a spot on the Newswire. If you know me (and read my submitted stories), you know I'm one for sharing humorous little "odd news" tidbits w/you all. I'm hoping this'll be a step in a direction to do just that. I'm nervous, yet excited @what this holds. So keep an eye out! wink

Speaking of the site, w/the boards, the Newswire, the humorous troll-bashing they entail, etc., I will admit sometimes I forget one main aspect of SG...the SGs! Well, I'm going to remedy that. Every now and then, I like to direct you, Gentle Reader, to sets from some wonderful ladies that I feel you'd be missing out on otherwise. Why? Because I rock the body that rocks the party, as the kids say. So, without further ado...CHECK OUT THESE SETS! They're all wonderful ladies who deserve good publicity. biggrin

zoom image zoom image

zoom image zoom image

zoom image zoom image

*waits patiently*

Good? Good. Welcome back. biggrin

zoom image

And now for something completely different...

PORK CHOP SANDWICHES!

Yes, I'm random. But you love me anyway, so shut it. kiss

That's all for now, kids. An overdue blog commenting excursion awaits. As always, I hope you are all well. smile

Hey, kids! It's the first update in '08 from Your Friendly Neighborhood Freak.

I hope you all had a Happy (and safe) New Year. Mine was spent enjoying the company of friends in Raynham. I would've taken pics, but I ended up being a weensy too drunk to remember. More on that later.

zoom image

That's right. My Xmas tree has been monkeyfied. And yes, it is still up. Mostly because I never put it up the year before, so I wanted to make sure I had some Xmas cheer around the humble commode.

I figured I'd also post it as I realized that I never shared how my holiday was. Here we go...

Xmas eve, I get a call from my Nana while I'm on break smoking a cig. Her, my grandpa, my aunt, and my uncle all came down w/stomach bugs, so she called to tell me Xmas is canceled until the following Saturday. Naturally, something like this makes me quite depressed. Work wasn't a cakewalk that day either. So, coming home, feeling aforementioned depression, I decide to straighten out the living room and get the tree and lights up, as well as start wrapping gifts in newspaper, as I do.

As I'm puttering aboot, I talk to my buddy Chris, and find out that he has nothing to do either, so we decide we're going to salvage Xmas the best we can. The next day, after I come home from seeing my dad and stepmom, exchanging gifts over a cup of coffee, Chris swings by to pick me up. We then drive to the theater and buy our tickets for Alien vs. Predator: Requiem (I never saw the first, but I quite enjoyed this film). Now, by this time, we're hungry. But, being Xmas day, we start to get annoyed as we find everything to be closed, except for the one savior of the hungry traveler...

zoom image

...Denny's.

After sitting down to a yummy French Toast Slam (no eggs, I find them vile), we then go to see the movie. When we got out, we then drive one town over to a different theater and meet up w/our homeslice Justin, and proceed to see Sweeney Todd (which was also a good movie). Then, Chris and I went back to his place to play some Rock Band as Justin stayed behind to see I Am Legend. Justin later came back, more rocking was had, then he and I left for our trip back home. En route, Justin mentions he is very hungry, and asks if I am as such. I say yes, so we then decide to take a ride to...

zoom image

...that's right, Denny's.

I finally made it back home around 2:30 in the morning. My Xmas became one of gory movies, strumming a pretend guitar, and 2 French Toast Slams. I would say my holiday turned out much better than sitting @home alone. biggrin

And, BTW, I did still see the rest of the family that Saturday, and got my fill of food there (as well as a $50 Visa gift card), so that made me happy as well.

New Years Eve was also, funny enough, spent playing Rock Band, as well as that drunkenness I mentioned earlier. Here's the deal...Justin and I arrived in Raynham around 10:30 that night. Besides various snacking here and there, I hadn't had a proper meal since 6:30 that morning before work. Having said that, in 2 hours time I had 2 beers...and 3 tequila shooters. While I'm no drunkard, I quickly realized I was more of a lightweight than I thought when one of the New Year congratulatory hugs was going to my new best friend Mr. Toilet. puke

Let's just say, the next morning, Wal-Mart brand Excedrin, a strong cup of tea, and a hearty breakfast made me feel good as new.

So, since I have aired my inebriated embarassment for all you kids to see, feel free to share any amusing stories you may have while you were ringing in '08.

That's all for now, kids. As always, I hope you are all well. smile

Stay tuned...

DECEMBER 30, 2007 @ 06:23 PM | 20 COMMENTS

Hey, kids! It's another update from Your Friendly Neighborhood Freak (and the last for 2007).

Normally, I would start off w/how I've been as of late or say something funny, but please bear w/me as I feel the need to wax introspective...

2007 is almost gone, and while most of us will spend tomorrow drinking and ringing in the new year into the wee hours of 2008, the time is inevitably also spent reflecting on the 360-someodd days that have passed. Today, Yours Truly spent some time doing just that.

While there were many moments in '07 that will be remembered fondly (fun times w/friends and family, going to NY, visiting Sharonaaaa and meeting members in NY, hosting sillyokio and showing her a good time here in MA), there were also some that were...not so fun (namely the passing of my grandma and my relationship w/the ex basically imploding, something that bothers me almost a year later). The new year is also about resolutions, making a promise to yourself, however big or small, to better yourself in some way, shape, or form. But why do we do it? Is it just natural to try to improve your own standing in life, or are we so jaded with the past 12 months that almost any improvement is welcome w/open arms? I can only speak for myself, but it's starting to feel more like the latter. And that's not good.

While I've been making small steps in fixing the things that bother me (cleaning the apartment, taking college courses) and the more tangible things are easier to resolve, others are not. But, in the spirit of things, here are some resolutions I'd like to make for the coming year:

1. Quit smoking (seems to be the norm)

2. Lose some weight (ditto)

3. Get my license / work on affording a car (as long as I'm not out of work come the end of summer, contract negotiations and such)

4. Take more courses

5. Learn to not get so stressed out over things / learn to like myself more as a person (they go hand in hand)

6. Be the best damn Freak I can be

After I get out of work, I will be en route to celebrating w/friends, drunken merriment and whathaveyou. When the ball drops, I will raise a toast in hopes that the new year brings about more positive changes for Your Humble Narrator. Also, I will raise a toast to you guys, as each and every one of you are one of those constants; it just wouldn't be the same w/o ya. smile

Here's to '08, kids.

Stay tuned...

Hey, kids! It's another update from Your Friendly Neighborhood Freak.

How am I, you ask?

Well, instead of telling you what's been going on here lately, I thought I'd show you, mostly because my nice little HP Photosmart R725 just doesn't get enough love these days.

It be winter here in Gahdna-Hey G-Vegas(!!!), and I don't much care for it. The cold, the dead, the pretty ladies now bundled up in so many layers of clothing you'd lose your hard-on in the process of undressing.

Though it is pretty to look @, I'll admit. So not half an hour ago or so, Your Humble Narrator decided to throw on his hoodie and head outside to collect visual proof w/you all (especially for you kids who never see snow...don't say I never did nothin' for ya wink ).

This is the view outside my apartment building. The wreath means it's almost Xmas...I think.

And this is the big...bush...thing outside aforementioned building.

Plows have been here @least twice this week...and this poor jackass needs to learn how to clean off his van.

I can't help but wonder...when did this stop being a snowman and start being a "Corkscrew Snow Dildo?" I considered running back inside, getting my gloves, and making it a friend. "Snow Vagina," perhaps?

Now, Yours Truly prefers the warmer climes for July and August, so this is the face he usually makes when he wakes up and sees freshly fallen white stuff:

Coincidentally, that's also the face I make when the canned corned beef hash I had for breakfast comes back to haunt my olfactory nerves, if you follow my meaning.

Now, where there's snow, there's Xmas. I've done almost all my shopping, and am looking forward to spending time w/family and friends and (of course) gorging myself. I need to make up for the fact I only had one (shock! horror!) plate of food on Thanksgiving. Had my fair share of pie, though. Sadly, not the pie I would've liked, if, again, you follow my meaning.

Then again, as George Carlin once said..."Ever notice how no one gets laid on Thanksgiving? I think it's because all the coats are on the bed."

George, you witty motherfucker, you.

Now, I noticed my posting of MST3K in my last blog received positive reviews. It's good to know there's plenty of fellow MSTies among us here on SG. But I've outdone myself yet again. Being the holiday season, there's certain things you just need to watch. Rudolph, Frosty, Charlie Brown, and what I have for you all here this evening. Bundle up w/your hot cocoa and gingerbread cookies as Joel, Tom and Crow celebrate a "Patrick Swayze Christmas" and watch...

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.

Find Parts 4-10 here

That's all for now, kids. I may or may not update again before Xmas. If not, I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday (and a happy Boxing Day to you kids in Canada, eh?). As always, I hope you are all well. smile

Stay tuned...

Hey, kids! It's another update from Your Friendly Neighborhood Freak.

I know it's been a little while, longer than some of you may be used to from Your Humble Narrator. Mostly because I wish I was able to upload videos again to show you all my next little surprise. mad

I'm doing my best to show patience, as I know the Ones In Green are doing their dernest to get everything up and working again. And they've done a good job thus far, IMO.

Also, I've discovered a few things...mainly, I just don't think I'm made of enough stuff to stray outside of Silliness for too long, and I'm apparently stubborn as a mule just like my mother (as much as I hate to admit it).

(EDIT - The less said about that, the better. Moving on...)

We got somewhere between 4-8 inches of snow yesterday. This weekend, from what I hear, there's a chance of a Nor'Easter, with snow, rain, ice, and all that crap that comes from living in New England during the winter. I've lived in MA all my life. I can expect it, I can accept it, and I can tolerate it. But it doesn't mean I have to like it. As far as I'm concerned, I'll welcome summer and the 80-100 degree weather it brings w/open arms.

Beyond that, it's been more of the "same old, same old" for Yours Truly. Been trying to get more Xmas shopping done (though I had to politely rip Columbia House a new one for fucking up my most recent order) and farting around on the Interweb. Which brings me to my next point.

As you've all noticed, I like to post YouTube videos in my blog which I find entertaining, and that I think you kids would find entertaining as well. Sadly, I never had a chance to really get into Mystery Science Theater 3000 when it was still on the air. However, thanks to the aforementioned YouTube, I was able to find one of the episodes I was able to catch, and I post it (part of it, @least) for you all to equally enjoy and be horrified by.

"What movie will this episode show," you ask? Why, just a little movie starring the late Raul Julia that makes Street Fighter: The Movie look like a Best Picture shoo-in by comparison.

I bring you...Overdrawn At The Memory Bank.

Find Parts 4-12 here

That's all for now, kids. A blog-commenting excursion awaits me. As always, I hope you are all well. smile

Hey, kids! It's another update from Your Friendly Neighborhood Freak.

First of all, I would like to wish all you Jewish members out there a happy, safe, and...well...rockin' Hanukkah.

Outside of this past weekend, it's been "same old, same old" for Your Humble Narrator. The weekend was spent w/friends @my buddy Justin's folks' house, as they were away @Disney World. Grilled up burgers and hot dogs, drank, played video games, and made a fire outside to toast marshmallows (which was extra good being that temperatures had to be in single digits, wind chill and all that crap). Fun was had. Hoping I'll get to see everyone come New Year's Eve.

Speaking of the weather...uhhh, yeaaaah. Whoever wants the snow and the cold can have it, as far as I'm concerned. This time of year always puts me in a foul mood where the weather is concerned. It just seems to be putting that exclamation point on a 2007 that, while it had some good moments, could've overall gone better for Yours Truly.

I need a life. blackeyed

But I digress.

Also, since I now have Photoshop again, I've decided one thing I should try to do is get back into doing some art again. I usually sit down and do collages, but I've not had the mindset to clear a spot on the living room floor and break out the X-Acto and the rubber cement. However, I did this the other night:

Basically almost like what my collages are like, just in digital form. It's rough, but that's how I work. Doesn't need to be Grade A Photoshopping, just as long as people like it.

So...yay? Nay? Indifferent?

Moving on...

Yes, I know I use comedy videos from YouTube to cover up the fact I've got shit to write about, but it's entertaining, and you can deal because you ♥ me anyway. tongue

So here's some George Carlin.

That's about all for now, kids. As always, I hope you are all well. smile

Hey, kids! It's another update from Your Friendly Neighborhood Freak.

First of all, I hope everyone had a happy and safe Turkey Day w/family, friends and loved ones. Or, if you live outside the US...hope your Thursday went well. wink

Mine was decent. Dinner w/the family (smaller crowd than I'm used to, though) was good. Working 10:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m. however...not so much. blackeyed

Started my Xmas shopping already, though I already know some people are going to be a bit difficult to buy for. I've got like 4 weeks or so, I should be able to figure it out.

Also, I'm glad to see sillyokio is back. Personally, I think everyone should send her some love, for she is awesome like that. biggrin

That, and she knows how to make a guy pretty much fall over himself doing stupid shit and making a monkey's heinie out of himself to show her his admiration. Not that I'm naming names......blush

Other than that, it's been same old, same old. Looking forward to Wednesday and Thursday (my days off), and just working and hanging out, basically.

I couldn't think of something else entertaining to put here, so here's a little Stephen Lynch.

That's all for now, kids. As always, I hope you are all well. smile
