Hey, kids! It's another update from Your Friendly Neighborhood Freak.

I tell, ya, it's been a long-ass week @work. Lots of extra traffic, busy, busy. Other than that, it's been the same old. Though, I tell ya, w/the onset of spring, my, *ahem*, "drive" has been getting crazy. Which is just that more frustrating. blackeyed

On a more positive note, Your Humble Narrator has driving lessons scheduled! That's right, I don't have a driver's license. That's mostly due to $ and procrastination (and not having a car anyway). But, I figure it'll be one less thing to worry about.

Also, I've been thinking about taking some online courses for web design and the like, something that could get my foot in the door to a job I'd, you know, love. Nothing set in stone yet, but, you know, something I've been thinking about.

Now, if you missed my last blog, and the blog before that (to which I say, "SHAME ON YOU!" tongue ), I've been chronicling my recent vacation in Texas w/the awesome sillyokio. Now, new update = new chapter! So, on we go...

thefreak Invades Texas - Part Three - Lazy Sundays, and Monkeys (and Flamingos)

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
After two days of fun galore, Okio and I decided to have a nice, relaxing day indoors.

The weather, however, was quite nice. So, as hunger got the better of me, I decided to find a bite to eat as Okio puttered about.

So, on I walked...

...until I found this colorful, little hole-in-the-wall booth in the middle of a parking lot called Taco Grande. I proceeded to have three homemade and quite delicious tacos, along w/equally good rice. The refried beans, however, left a lot to be desired.

(Also, I forgot to take a picture of said taco-y goodness. For I'm an idjit.)

As we both sat around, enjoying both the Xbox 360 as well as general Interweb goodness, we thought about more orgasmic baked goods to make.

So, after a trip to Wal-Mart to get sour cream and cream cheese, then a trip to Kroger to buy more sour cream and cream cheese (there was a snafu), we made something that helps chocolate and drinking come together...

Pure awesome.

What's that? You want to see them frosted?

There ya go.

What's that? You want the recipe so you may control this moist, yummy sex for yourselves? Go here, young Padawans.

[/shameless plug]

Full of cupcakes, I soon started nic-fitting. So...

...on I walked (wow, deja vu) to the closest 24-hour gas station for cigarettes. Rested, sugar craving sated, lungs blackened, and in the company of a gracious host, it was a good day. We would soon turn in for the evening and look forward to tomorrow.

Soon it was Monday. As we were thinking of something fun to do, Okio had previously suggested The Dallas World Aquarium. Now, I'm a lover of animals (besides the ones for eating), so this sounded like a very good idea. Also, there would be monkeys!

So, we got ready (and Okio looked quite beautiful, though she doesn't believe me, and won't let me post the pic I want tongue wink ) and soon we were off.

Hell, we hadn't even gotten in the car and we saw our first animal.

Mr. Friendly Squirrel decided to hang out outside. I'm used to the grayer squirrels up north, so a photo was had.

Weather started out not as nice as Sunday, but we'd be indoors anywho, so it didn't make a difference. Oh, and the freeways and such down there are concrete instead of tar. WACKY! shocked

I've not a clue what this building is, but I thought it was cool-looking.

Trust me, that says "Dallas World Aquarium." Hell, they even have animals outside.

FISH!

Any excuse to see more green, green plants while everything here in MA is still dead as all hell is a good excuse.

I can't remember what kind of bird this was, all I remember was it was loud as hell.

TOUCAN!

Now, back to the aforementioned monkeys, I saw Golden Lion Tamarins, and had to get proof.

They, however, were total jackasses and refused to give my good poses (DAMN YOU, FOCUS!). Okio, however, was more loved by them, judging from the pics she got. I feel so betrayed.

I got the urge to pee for some reason.

I did my best to not jump in there and avenge Steve Irwin.

A cuttlefish. If I decided to go w/a "oceanic" theme for my tattoos, I think cuttlefish are rather cool-looking.

I have no clue WTF this is, but I want one.

There was this cool as fuck glass-like tunnel thingy where you walk through and all sorts of sharks swim in front of and above you. Sadly, this is the only pic that came out.

Through our walking, uh, through, I caught a glimpse of a mass of pink. After more walking, we finally reached the flamingoes.

Now, I am comfortable enough in my masculinity (and John Waters fanboyism) to admit my ♥ of flamingoes. Behind monkeys, pandas, and platypi, they're pretty much my favorite animal.

Also, I swear any time I see flamingoes, I end up seeing one poop whilst standing on one foot, which I did. And I giggled like a little bitch.

Our day @DWA was soon complete, though overall there was still much more touristy things to be had.

That's all for now, kids. Look out for Part Four soon!

As always, I hope you are all well. smile

Stay tuned...

-TM

thanks for all the wonderful pics! Glad you didnt pull a Steve Irwin cause your sense of humor makes me laugh and I would miss it. The shark pic made me shudder. I can't go to aquariums for my fear of seeing them, they creep me out. Im like a little kid, I make my son go first around corners to make sure there are no sharks! eeek

Yeah. I kinda know what you mean. I'm having trouble deciphering my own notes for a report that's supposed to be in tomorrow. It might still be, just late tomorrow.

Ya. You what the funny thing is ?
You see a LOT of bikes like that here.
Well, you don't see bikes like that! but you see lots of crazy ass bikes. Cruisers, old radio flyers, custom jobbies and three wheelers all over the place.

Great , great pics from YOU !
I'm jealous. You're going to share those cupcakes right ?
I have some really great flamingo pics somewhere. Remind me sometime if you want to see them.
I know this secret place where the horizon is just a band of pink as you see the millions of flamingos off in the distance.

The breeder cropped the ears and docked the tails of the entire litter, before shipping. The dogs are show quality, and she hadn't made her selections yet, at that time. The day is comming, when they won't do that any more . . . but its going to take judges at dog shows to initiate the movement.
