ARRRGGHH Oil Spills and Whining
People complain about what a disaster this Oil Spill is and what is will do to fuel prices as they cruise to work in their shiny SUVs. Stop being part of the problem and be part of the solution! You all complain and whine about what a disaster this is and while I agree it's huge lets try not to forget that 11 men lost their lives to this tragedy! The marine life loss will be unimaginable and the damage to the Gulf's eco-system will lay in a delicate balance between life and death for the next several years. We all need to change in order to break the big Oil Cartels grip on America and it's dependency on fossil fuel.
Yes, Offshore drilling is dangerous and Yes we could potentially have a terrible spill like this one but history shows us that the last major incident was more than 15 years ago making this the safest way to get oil. BP, while not doing as much as they should have to prevent this spill from spreading to epic proportions is one of the industry leaders in finding other sources of energy.. This in No Way excuses theirs or our Governments SLOW response to this disaster.
But if you really want to make a difference then Try volunteering to help clean some birds or other animals affected by this.
But At the very least GO BUY A FUEL EFFICIENT VEHICLE!! and I mean 30+ MPG. and Unless you have a genuine need for a truck or SUV, DON'T BUY ONE! You are part of the problem not the solution!
