Let's rant about existence... whatever that may be...
So it's like this..
You have this energy that you're born with. Well maybe it's always there, who knows. I don't think anybody does. Well maybe somebody. Although they aren't a body anymore if they know.
Anyway so you're born. Hypothetically this energy is completley pure, meaning that it hasn't lodged itself onto anything yet. You start being raised and then immediatley just from being around others and seeing how things are your energy get's lodged into conceptual thinking, with the concept of "me" being the main one theoretically, i could be wrong.
So with that core "illusion" of selfhood comes all that crappy stuff, as well as the good stuff. I guess they go hand in hand. I'm this, I'm that blah blah blah...
So in the zen way you just sit on your butt and literally do nothing, couped with understanding of the philsophy and somehow that mind just obliterates itself naturally. It works. But i sense some beleifs that still linger in some of the so-called "realized" peopels heads. Not so sure how to articulate them at this point. Aziz Kristof said Dogen wasn't fully self-realized. I don't know how he came to this conclusion but i intend to find out.
According to Ramana Maharshi until there's no remnants of the concept of self, and when it has comepltley been dissolved in the useful imaginary heart center, then you are "fully self-realized. The way to get there according Maharshi is the question "Who am I?"... Basically you ask yourself this question attacking that illusion of self right at the root of it. Inn my expeirence this just chops away at the subject object distinction.
The problem is poeple can become very imbalanced with this method. For it obliterates better than any other method what you would call Karma. This has been my problem. My motivations for doing it weren't very pure and it resulted in both karmic dissoultion andimmense confusion... As of now it seems I'm developing more of a rythym with it. You have to do it in such a way as to cath yourself, and bring all that energy that was invested in "self-hood" into the assumption that you exist, thus destroying it...
Peaceout!!
