can you sue someone in your office for making you sick? I mean, if someone gave you strepp and you had to go to new york for a business trip and you got so ill that you had to cancel meetings, could you sue for damages? Just hypothetically speaking, of course.

all day I have been binging on Dashboard Confessional.
There, I said it. I feel better. Should I say 10 hail mary's or something? Ever since I saw them play at the awful MySpace party at the Dodger stadium where everyone was a skinny adorable asian kid and everyone sat and text messaged constantly without looking up or talking to anyone... I have been secretly enjoying the DC. yes. I have. and now you know.
Note to self.
Do not drink more than 3 cups of coffee in one day.
Do not drink more than 1 cappuccino in one day
Do not drink Rockstar unless you plan to be up for 2 days and feel exhausted for 2 days
rockstar hangover = pathetic and painful
the cure for caffeine overdose is NOT more coffee
when quitting smoking, oding on caffeine is not helpful
irritability cannot be cured by drinking more coffee

Let's talk about "friendly advice." Can advice truly be friendly? When people advise you about how you run your business, do they realize that it is a complex world they are entering? If you take someone's advice about your business and lose money, can you bill them? Oh lord, let me neither solicit nor proffer advice. Let the advice be locked down, in a world from which it will never be released.
Free advice and worth every penny... Apparently advice is worth 2 cents. That's how it is always described. Would it be appropriate to hand someone 2 cents when they give you advice and thank them kindly?

Once I decided to be confrontational about this issue. I sat a friend down who was generously offering unsolicited advice on personal issues and I said, "wow, that's so kind of you to think of my life and offer advice. I always thought it would be rude to do that, but since you are so generous, I have had a few thoughts on your behavior and I would love to have a dialogue. Shall we discuss?" --- She never tried it again...
