While I lie here in bed, searching for my land of dreams, I might as well go ahead and write my biannual blog haha.
I'm not going to bother trying to fill everyone in on what's happened since my last blog, only actions and thoughts as of late.
I moved back to Phoenix, this time permanently (at least as permanent as my restless mind will allow). Not that it's a drastic change for me, I've been living here off and on for the last 5 years. But I do know that in a few months time I will begin to long for home again. Mostly just to see my family. As much as I would love to hate them from time to time, I cannot. They have always been some of my closest friends and are always there for me. It will be different without them just a short drive away. However, the reason for my leaving is the promise of a big boy job. Alas, I believe it's time for this boy to begin growing up and settling down! It's still the job I have and love, it's just the 365 day a year version of it with benefits, so it shouldn't be much of a shock to my lil ole system haha.
Since my move, I apparently contracted some form of plague, which I'm nearly healed of. It began as a sinus infection and morphed into the dreaded flu I think. Hell if I actually know because I didn't go to the doctor. I could have been some new strain of flu. I shall refer to it as H7N32, the amphibian flu!
Just before my leaving to the state of eternal sunshine, I found out that my uncle was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. It's a highly aggressive form of brain and spinal chord cancer that is predominately found in children. Luckily his was encapsulated in his brain and had not spread. So they removed a tumor the size of a small baked potato from the right frontal lobe of his brain. He's doing extremely well now. He's 74, and has accepted that if all doesn't work out, he's had a good life. The travesty comes with the fact that my father, youngest of 3 sons, and my grandma will more than likely out live him. And it's affecting them very hard because the middle of the 3 boys died of brain cancer before I was born. So before I left, I had to be the family shoulder for them all to cry on. Thankfully, we got the good news that he was doing well with treatment just before I left.
Enough with the sad topics! Since I've been out here, everything has been going well. Nothing of excitement has been happening. Which is nice after the last few weeks, the peace and quiet is absolutely priceless. The lack of female companionship is a bit of a drag, but that is nothing for you to concern yourself with, it is a task which is completely on my shoulders. But do wish me luck, as with the whole big boy job thing, I do wish to find someone to settle down with...not necessarily rocking chairs and grand kids, but at least a warm soul to snuggle with at night.
And I really need to take some current pick of my now GINORMOUS bulldog! Capone has grown a lot since his last photo update. He's now ranging in the 90-100 lbs range!!! And it's not fat, he's just a tank!
Well, that is all for me. I hope everyone in SG land is having an amazing 2012 so far!

I don't know what is wrong with me lately. I'm allowing my indolence to shut me off from the outside world. And with the exception of my insurmountable boredom, I'm physically okay with it. Mentally however, it's slowly beginning to eat away at my psyche. I am a very social person and have no reason to be living this way, however, I am strangely content with this feeling. Hopefully I'll find something (or someone) to snap me out of this fog I'm walking around in soon, because despite my comfort in this current situation, this is just not who I am.
Enough of my drivel. What is everyone in SG land up to these days?

Dear Migraine,
Please go away. Feel free to write or call, but there is no need to ever come back.
Thanks,
Dave

I seriously need to right an actual blog in the near future...but not today haha. I've got a bunch of pics I need to post, especially of Capone, he's flippin huge now!
But instead, all you get's my near future plans
- blow shit up on the 4th
- go see some of my favorite bands in concert
- lots of fucking off
All mixed with profuse amounts of alcohol fueled mayhem...I've got plenty of time to heal up before work calls and tells me to get my ass back on AZ!
So how's everyone in SG land?

It should be a decent time

Rock on the Range was fucking awesome!! I had a great time in Cbus. But now it's time to straighten up and act like an adult again
I'm flying to Boston tomorrow for a job interview, so wish me luck!
I suppose it's time for a new blog...
In the last month things have been pretty good. I have been a completely worthless bum and it's been delightful! haha My days mostly consist of napping, reading, and playing video games, with the occasional drunken debaucherous night here and there.
I've been helping my 94 year old grandma move. What would cause a 94 year old woman to move you might ask...she's finally decided that her 5 bedroom house is just a little too big her now! She only uses about 3 rooms right now, so she's decided to move into a much smaller house that she can use and enjoy. As I was helping her pack, I found a small bottle of whiskey in the cabinet. It was Old 1889 Brand, this stuff hasn't been made for about 50 years. Apparently, it was my grandpa's favorite brand. She told me to take it because "I don't need that at my age, one sniff would probably put me under the table." haha Then we got to talking about drinking. My grandpa was quite the party guy when he was young. He played guitar and banjo in a dance band back in the 20s and 30s. She said he was quite the lady's man and that's how they met. Once they started "going steady" they partied at speakeasies a lot during prohibition! So I guess I come by my lifestyle honestly, haha. It's amazing what you learn from a bottle of booze!
And in more recent news, I got a phone call the other day to go back to Phoenix to work for a while. Which is good, I've been missing my desert home. I would have preferred to go a month or two ago when it was fucking freezing here! Oh well, I survived the cold, haha.
So what's new with all my SG friends? I hope all is well
