hello my snickerdoodles and mad dutchmen,
I moved into my first apartment on Christmas day, and did it alone. When i was done i was tired, I was cold, I was broke and.......
I was locked out.
So I did what i usually do when i am in trouble, I sat in my hallway and cried. When I has been crying for 10 minutes i heard a tap tap tap down the hall and a jingling sound,
santa?
no! Drag Queens!! 6 of them!! in full hair and make-up, walking up my hallway. they invited me in, fed me bourbon spiked eggnog and ginger cookies and let me use their phone. They sent me home with the recipe for the cookies, and a book about alchemy symbols.
the weird part? I never saw them again, even though we lived next door.
Ginger Molasses Cookies
adapted from my neighbor from my first apartments recipe
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup canola oil
1 cup sugar plus more for rolling
1 large egg
1/2 cup molasses
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, on the medium speed of an electric mixer, beat together the oil and sugar for 2 3 minutes. Add the egg and molasses, and beat well. Add the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Put a small amount of sugar in a small bowl. Using a teaspoon, scoop dough and drop into the sugar bowl. Roll into a ball and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Leave several inches between cookies to allow for expansion. Bake for 10 minutes.
still no computer, love you all
