I love _Trouble_. She's just an awesome lady. I mean it. I'm not kidding.love

If you don't know her, go see her and you'll love her like I do. If you already know her, go say hi anyway. She might give you a slice of her watermelon.

This will be my first attempt at uploading video. I hope that it works because it's an old favoritesmile If it fails, all it will prove is that I can't follow the simplest directions.

Today I'm going to take you back to your school days. Your early school days.

And the test is in three parts. And no looking on your neighbors' papers, you crazy kids.

1. Do you remember your first love? Do you know what happened with them? Do you keep in touch? (mine FYI was a little girl named Ann Page in first grade...she moved between first and second grade and I never heard from her again).

2. Were you ever a teacher's pet? A class where you could do no wrong? (for me it was Miss Britton's second grade art class....she was too skinny for me...even then I had standards).

3. You remember your best pal? The one you could confide in? The one who could get you into trouble, yet you never tattled on? (my buddy Richard, whom I kept in touch with for years and whom they were still id'ing in bars when he was 30. He was always real young looking).

As always TFPA. See you in the funny papers.winkwink

I was minding my own business, ruminating on the failings, foibles and frailties of the human condition (people have asked me not to do that, particularly in public), when I happened upon this question:

What would you do with a million dollars? (or an equivalent amount dependent upon where you live)

The money is tax free. You can do anything you want. Buy a house, start a business, give to a charity, whatever. You don't have to spend all of it, hell. you don't have to spend any of it.

What would you do. What WOULD you do?

For myself, I'd buy a house with a high fence and become a recluse. Except if my SG friends came into town and were needing a place to crash. Either that, or open a small bookstore. I love bookstores.

As always, TFPAsmile

While I am admittedly a cultural sponge when it comes to most things. I realized (just a few moments ago, hence this blog) that I really don't know much about today's music. What are the kids listening to?
(that's you guys).

So tell me, if you were trying to educate me on contemporary music, what artist, song, CD, download or whatever would you recommend as a good starting off point to get me up to speed on today's scene.

One disclaimer: no rules. It could be anything. I essentially stopped listening when disco came along, so before that I'm fairly familiar, afterwards, I'm pretty much clueless.

I'm an empty slate SG. Tabula rasa. Teach mesmile

While I realize that, generally speaking, there is no off button on the genius switch, I have come to the realization that, for today at least, I have nothing to offer that is, or may be interpreted as, the least bit:

1. Witty
2. Sophisticated
3. Heartfelt
4. Socially Acceptable
5. Politically Correct
6. Sweet
7. Maudlin
8. Urbane
9. Obscure
10. Overt
11. Covert
12. Pervert
13. Inverted
14. Subverted
15. Introverted
16. Extroverted

So I choose today to stay in the shadows, my head only to pop-up like an interminable game of Whack-a-Mole.

So I pretty much got nothin.
