I was minding my own business, ruminating on the failings, foibles and frailties of the human condition (people have asked me not to do that, particularly in public), when I happened upon this question:

What would you do with a million dollars? (or an equivalent amount dependent upon where you live)

The money is tax free. You can do anything you want. Buy a house, start a business, give to a charity, whatever. You don't have to spend all of it, hell. you don't have to spend any of it.

What would you do. What WOULD you do?

For myself, I'd buy a house with a high fence and become a recluse. Except if my SG friends came into town and were needing a place to crash. Either that, or open a small bookstore. I love bookstores.

I would buy a house in a cute part of town and put a cat run in it. And a mini internet shopping spree.

I actually just had this conversation in a bar last night.
If i had a million dollars, i'd keep it a secret. First, pay off the loans. Get my beautiful apartment back. Then pop it in the bank and live on the interest. I'd tell me friends that i acquired a couple of steady, high paying contracts, and it's enough to move out on. I know too many vultures.

A million $$$.... I would buy myself a boutique/gallery, pay off all of my debts, get a house for my family (just a regular 4 bedroom - no bells and whistles), financially back an animal shelter, pay for strays to get spayed and neutered, and teach free after school art classes for children from families with small incomes.
