HOW EMO AM I NOW?

So I went and did it. For shits and giggles, I got all of the hair on my head straightened today. How fun is that? Actually -- I've never had straight hair, so I gotta tell you -- it's pretty damned fun. Soon as I wash it, it will spring back. Boi-oi-oi-oi-oing! At first it looked like a wig, to me. Now I think it's kinda cool.

It's weird when someone tells you your favorite movie of all time has bad acting... and it's a possibility that never even occurred to you, since the movie is a part of you like your bloodstream...
In the Film group, someone recently said Jason Schwarzmann's acting in Rushmore was bad. I always felt like his awkwardness was just part of his character being extremely awkward. I thought emotional problems were part-n-parcel of Max Fischer's arrested development.

But when you mentioned the actors in Dark Star being bad, I had to step back and go.... hmm. I guess you're right. The delivery of many of the lines is artificial (the most glaring example-- "the Phoenix Asteroids..... never heard of them"). I guess I'd always just felt that since they've been in space so long, they're really freaked out, like they're sleep-deprived with cabin fever. Talby's acting, I did like. He's just really freaked-out. And Pinback, well, he's funny, and reminds me of Ringo (cf. The Magic Christian)...

I guess, ultimately, though, you're right... and I can't make fun of Keanu Reeves or Brad Pitt anymore. Fair enough... but Dark Star is still easily one of my favorite films ever, if not my very favorite. shocked

Your hair looks great! What a freaky profile pic though. It's kind of like the portraits at the Haunted Mansion, the ones that look at you.

I was watching an old episode of "Friends" tonight and in the background of when they are at the coffee shop, there was a poster up for something called, "Sugarfish", I don't know if it was suppose to be a band or what? surreal

I would be pissed if I came up with something and then saw them use it on a big time t.v. show. I am stuck up like that. haha. biggrin

Yes, I took the pic. of the 8-bit robots. I took like 100 pics. that night and 2 videos. I just discovered a bunch of functions on my digital camera and had a good opportunity to mess around with it. I love it! It is less anti social than being on the computer but comfortable to hide behind the lens.

That's fine - you are correct, after all.

I once tried to read some Gibson many years ago and didn't take to it at all. If you want to read a book about the future, I suggest Saucer Wisdom by Rudy Rucker.

photoshop!?!? pffffffft. As if I'd need a computer to create the fairy face.

No, my friend, the fairy pictures are of my final project in my stage makeup class. We had to pick a character from a play and design a makeup for them. I chose Mustardseed from Midsummer. The yellow tint is my expert blending skills with foundation and yellow creme makeup, the green lips is a metallic green eyeliner with a dab of gold eyeshadow in the center. The ears are little face latex ear extensions I glued to my ears. And the crowning glory, the eyelashes, are made out of fake flowers I bought at a craft store. I cut each petal to fit, then attatched them to my lids using spirit gum. I also had false lashes on top and bottom. It took about 45 mins to get the petals and everything in place. And oh man did they hurt to take off. But it turned out just as I imagined.

And you thought it was photoshop....please.
