Alright.

So i've tried. It's not happening. This town is driving me insane. I'm going back to Alberta. Back home for a while. My girlfriend is heading back to Ireland in a week and I'm going to head home to cow and tree country because while it's just as expensive to live in Alberta, the wages and hours are a lot fucking better than here in BC. It's not like I didn't enjoy it here, to some degree. But it's just not the place I want to be.

Now I gotta get rid of all my shit. Anyone want some stuff?

I'm seriously trying to get some shows together out here in Courtenay, but it's like squeezing blood from a fucking stone. There are next to no local bands who aren't fucking bar stars or jazz bands. Not that I don't enjoy a jazz band, but I also want to put some all ages shows together, because punk is my lifeblood. I can't find any signs of local bands who are serious about a scene rather than their "careers", this town is so far out of the way no one comes out here while touring. I'm trying to get my alberta band buddies to come out here, but they're busy with their shit, trying to plan tours around their jobs, and it's a pain in the ass.
I dunno, I had higher expectations for this town. There's nothing here, even less so than Peace River. I'm earning minimum wage, deep in debt and my car keeps breaking down. My girlfriend is entertaining ideas that we'll go back to Ireland in the fall, but I don't even think I'll have the money then - even if I was completely on board with the idea. I haven't been to see a good live band play in months, and I can't stand it.
I'd like to form my own band but no one here seems to be into that. I'm going to try putting a stupid ad up - a really lame way to form a band, because you never know meeting someone at random is going to work.

I'm so fucking fed up with being stuck in this sterile, suburban nightmare of a town.

So I finally got back to my exercise routine yesterday - went to a gym, signed up, and did a workout. It felt really good afterwards, with little soreness, which is odd - I felt like I'd pushed myself a lot, so I guess I'll have to see how I do tomorrow.

My check was pretty small this month, largely due to being sent home early because things were so slow, which also means less spiffs and commission. It's not like I get a whole lot of that crap anyway, but sometimes it means the difference between good cooking and a ramen-noodle diet. I enjoy noodles and pasta and rice, but sometimes it's nice to cook a lasagna or some goat cheese and pesto chicken.

I watched Fido the other night. REALLY good. Funny, kistchy, and quirky. If filmmakers made more movies like this, I might waste even more of my time on DVDs. Between that and Deadwood, it's been hard to do anything else.

Deadwood - Here is TV the way it should be. The characters are all interesting, 3-Dimensional, and engrossing. None of them are caricatures, or ever do what you expect. The dialogue is top-notch. If I watch carefully, I can see why someone who doesn't like swearing would be put off, but the foul-mouthedness comes off as a)just part of the frontier world they built and b)so ingrained and intertwined naturally into the dialogue that if I'm not looking for it, I don't notice it. I can't believe I didn't see it earlier, and I wish they'd been able to do their fourth and final season.

I'm slowly finding it harder and harder to keep up with the updated sets - with a few exceptions, most of the girls I really like are either gone or don't release sets that often. Mostly when I do get time to look at the sets, it's with Ali, and we just kind of flip through the sets seeing which shots we like.

Other than that, life is pretty much normal - off to karaoke tonight, and soon my brother will be coming to visit, back from South America. I can't wait.

One more thing; at the end of march we are moving - my roommate bought a house, so he is going to be our landlord. It's fairly nice, though I haven't gotten a good look at the inside yet - this place we have now is far too big for us, though. The only reason we picked it up is because it was the first thing that came along. Damn buyers' markets. Oh well - soon to be lower rent.

That's all from this guy for now.

Wow, I've been missing for a while. My membership expired due to overbalanced credit card(oops), and I just didn't really get around to resubscribing. But I'm back now, hopefully for a little better.

I'm moving soon, to a place in Comox which is a little closer to town. More details to come.

Yeah, I haven't been here in a while. Not that it really matters. Anyway, we're in courtenay now and all fixed up with a place. Ali has some interviews coming up and I have one roofing job I'm really hoping I'll get. It's good pay and working outside all summer. Plus it'll help me get back in shape.

Saw Transformers. SO. FUCKING. GOOD. I was worried they'd totally rape the spirit of my childhood days, but no, they stayed pretty faithful to the original. AND PETER CULLEN WAS OPTIMUS PRIME. Fuck. I seriously got shivers down my spine when he said it. Yes, that's right, he said it: "One shall stand. And one shall fall." Megatron's voice was pretty close too. My only bitches would be a)

and b) The Soundwave Character totally sucked butt munchkins. But other than that it was good enough for a hollywood summer blockbuster.

Nakatomi Plaza fucking rule. I'm digging on them seriously. How can I not have heard of them for so long? Sheeeeit. Anyway, totally awesome. Check 'em out! I also recently rediscovered Mojo Nixon. How can you not love mojo nixon? Especially Stuffin' Martha's Muffin. I don't care how old it is, it's still fucking funny.

Other than that, shutdown is all finished. HUZZAAH!!!! Only problem is, they're not paying us til the 15th. BOOOOO. mad But we still made lots of cash, should be enough to pay off my debts and get us the hell out of dodge. Our place in Courtenay is totally bodacious, and I can't wait to move in and start gettin' settled. I also have to start looking for a job out there.

This weekend we're going to go see The Horny Coroners both here in PR and then in Grande Prairie and hoping to have a hum dinger of a time. They are fucking fun and good buds, good times. Except for that Jay Coroner, I don't know what his fuckin' problem is. Probably a small penis.

Other than that things are uninteresting.

That's ok.

(Edit: woops, double post.)

I've really rediscovered this site recently. Sometimes I wonder why I came back. Then, occaisionally, certain girls or groups or members will remind me.

Right now, Rigel is totally making me happy I came back. Hot hot hot!!!

Me and my ladyfriend are going to be working the shutdown at the pulp mill. She's being a tank tender(she watches crews going into confined spaces and makes sure there are no gases or hazards etc.....), and I'm on labor. Also, my friend evan finally found a place out in B.C., so as soon as we're done the shutdown, we'll be going out there.

I'm also slowly trying to work up the ladyfriend into maybe submitting some photos..... tee hee. I think she'd enjoy it and it would boost her confidence more than compliments from me ever could(not that those aren't important too).

Used to be I had tons of things to write about. Lately I've just been blocked. My friend wants me to come to her writing class with her, but I have nothing to bring.

I feel blocked.

So my dad bought some charity lottery things or something and won a computer, but he already has a better one. So he gave me it. It's a MacBook. I've never used a Mac before.
On a side note, tonight was one of the best shows of my life! The Horny Coroners, blackjacket and The Brat Attack! They kicked ass! Photos to come.
