I don't blog on here much; I do check out and comment on sets all the time though.
I have been without a computer forever. My last one died at the end of my 25pg critical paper for my MFA. I got a Kindle Fire which is great for entertainment, but not so good at work or even typing (my fingers and virtual keyboards don't get along). So now, I have a proper laptop (nothing fancy, an Acer running Windows 8).
I have managed some travel this year with a road trip with my wife from Seattle to Chicago, then the upper peninsula of Michigan, and on to Winnipeg and across Canada to Vancouver before dropping back down to Seattle. It was a blast and I can't wait to get on the road again.
Now I have a shitty ass job and I am getting ready to change that (I have one foot out the door). It has drained my ability to travel, write, take in theatre... Thankfully I have options and I will get out soon.

I don't understand some of the people that post on the SG photos; there are no words that can speak to the trolls' stupidity. Why be so negative in life?
Lest week I read some of my poetry at an event aimed toward starting a discussion about class. It was pretty cool.
And back to writing I go...

I have been computerless forever. My laptop fried out on me at the end of my 25 page critical paper for my MFA. I saved the paper, got it in, and it is fine. But now I use a Kindle Fire and my phone most of the time, but I hate posting off of those two devices.
The good news? We live in the city of Seattle now, instead of the suburbs and I am working more.

This last weekend I went to the Tractor Tavern in Seattle to see Slim Cessna's Auto Club. They are from Colorado, and a friend of mine from my hometown that lives here took me to see them. I am not usually into this type of music, but man they kick ass live:
Bob Log III opened for them He was mostly a badass. A one man band that makes a LOT of noise
They both play a ton of live shows all over, you should try to catch them...

Still looking for a job here in Seattle. UGH. I should have my teaching license soon; I am just waiting on fingerprints to hit the system. Now that I'm not going to Los Angeles until December, and we are back from South Africa, I really really need to find something.
I also really need to get going on this twenty five page paper for my MFA. It has been slow going for me; I just can't get motivated at all to do it. UGH.
But, other than that, life is good! My daughters will be joining us here in Seattle in December. I cannot wait. My oldest is dying to be here and get into theatre and all that. My youngest wants hip-hop dance lessons
Off to the library I go!

South Africa was amazing... Such a beautiful country. Yes, it is full of problems, but it has so much culture and language, so much hope and determination and has this juxtaposition of third world and first world people living in the same place.
Cape Town has to be one of the most beautiful cities. The Kruger National Park is spectacular...
I want to go back already.

Spent the day in Vancouver, Canada yesterday. That was pretty cool. It's an interesting city, the skyline isn't what I was expecting for some reason. It looks like how I picture Hong Kong. The fish and chips I had down in the public market were great, we had tea on the island and The Fish House (the Tea House didnt seem to have tea...).
I found the city to be strange when it came to signage though. It wasn't clear at times if we were headed to the 99 and the U.S, border or not. It was somewhat confusing. There were a few other places like that too, but now that I know how the city is laid out, it wont be so bad next time we go there...
Today, back on the job hunt. Yay! LOL... I need one so bad, so bad. I have two month pay left; i need something to popup. Hopefully soon.

Today? We are going to go down to "A Bite of Seattle" and check out food
Then to yoga. Yoga is still a strange thing to me. It kicks my ass muscle wise and I love the stretching. It is a little hard to get used to sometimes, the poses, the breathing, the expanding my body and becoming light. What? Yeah, it isnt the same as jiu-jitsu. I do still plan on getting back into fighting when we come back from South Africa.
OH yeah! We're going to South Africa (my fiancee and I) in August. Holy shit! Elephants! and lions! and diesel Land Cruisers
