had a great st. paddys day.
Went to my friend's place, he made guinness stew, guinness battered onion rings, and green garlic mashed potatoes. I brought the youngs double chocolate stout to put on the ice cream! It was quite the awesome Stout Party! Stouts that were served were Guinness draught and extra stout(of Course), Allagash Black(mmmmm so good), Youngs double chocolate stout, Rogue Shakespear and Chocolate stout, and Stone Brewery Russian Imperial. My friend knows how to have a Stout Party!

So about 2 weeks ago, I sent my dog away for training to correct his dominant behaviors and to socialize him. I got a report about his training and I got great news! He has come along very well! He is coming home Sunday, and I am so happy he is comin home, I miss the hell out of him!
I have been enjoying the Olympics, I am happy I get to see most of the hockey games. Wish some of the games didn't start at midnight, but its west coast, better than a 7-13 hour difference.

its been awhile and really I don't have much to post about... no shows, no really great news. I have a pretty boring life, I am broke because I am awaiting my first paycheck from my job, so I don't go to shows or go out and get wasted, I spend a lot of time with the gf. But let me share with you some fun internet humor...
I have been MIA for a bit... don't worry, I am still alive.
I broke my old cell phone by bringing it into a jacuzzi. I guess electronics don't like hot water like humans do!
I was without a cell phone for almost 3 weeks... Other than that life is great!
I will try and update better later...
but in the meantime I am listening to:
The Heavy-Great Vengeance and Furious Fire

Last night I went to see Radiohead... I went with my friends and we had some good ol beers in the parking lot, missed out on Grizzly Bear, not to disappointed since I saw them before in a smaller venue and they were just alright. But Radiohead was quite good, not amazing but their light show was amazing, just not the set they played. Here is their set...

Ok OK its been a while since I posted in this and I should probably update it.
Keep the readers up to date, all maybe 3 or 4 of you hahaha(kidding). Well I picked Instinto up from the airport and later in the week we chilled for a weekend. I took her for an early birthday present to see Circle Jerks/Dillinger Four/Paint it Black/Matt and Kim/Monotonix/Team Robosphere(or whatever).
The show review...
Team Robosphere started the show off and was a synth pop band that wasn't very good. They really didn't do it for me at all, but they had alot of the young crowd bouncin around.
Monotonix played second, they are a guitar/drummer/singer trio from Tel Aviv,Israel. They were seriously one of the most insane live acts I have seen! Their music also is just as good as their live show. They are like 70's riffage, some hendrix, and some zappa influences. But their live show starts in the middle of the club floor, then in between songs and sometimes during songs they move their set to other parts of the club. The singer will sometimes take the drummers equipment and play it himself. The singer also kneeled on my shoulders for a song at one point. They also ended up outside by the dumpster and started throwing fresh bags of trash at the people. To end the set they played ontop of people.

Matt and Kim had to follow an act like that which is hard and they definitely weren't my thing at all, but again they appealed to the younger crowd for their keyboard and drum duo. They played synth pop/dancie mix and looked like they had a lot of fun.
Paint it Black was on after them, and of course Paint it Black playing in philly, there is no better place to see them and Instinto was so happy to see that. She experienced the best hardcore scene and I am happy she enjoyed it and appreciated it. Paint it Black played pretty well, the guitar sounded like shit but they still put on a solid show. They got people revved up for what I think was the best band of the night...
Dillinger Four, I have had quite a history trying to see these guys live. For one, they barely tour, but I had a chance 8 or 9 yrs ago to see them with Avail and the venue got shut down. Then I had a good chance to see them a year or two ago and the show sold out but then I found out there was a 2nd show later that day and the bassist/singer had an intestinal problem and so they didn't play. Well I finally get to see them and they didn't upset at all! I loved every second of their angry punk rants! They were everything I expected and more.
Circle Jerks played after that and well it was alright but I was not looking forward to sitting through 27 songs(as they announced at the beginning) because they were just as mediocre as I remember them being. I was outside most of the time, then Instinto wanted to leave also.
The next day I took her back to philly to do a little shopping, which I think I did more because we hit up a record store and I picked up some sweet scores... such as:
Captain Beefheart-Trout Mask Replica(repress)
Shellac-Terraformer
Dillinger Four-Midwestern Songs of the Americas
Can-Ege Bamyasi(on green)
Well this week has been fun as well, had work which is fun since the teacher in there is amazing and is a lot of fun to work with, it doesn't hurt that she is young and cute and is also a blast to hang out with at bars after work. This past thursday night I went to AC with my bro, my uncle and my uncle's friend to see The Dark Knight on IMAX!!! We first got some dinner at Cuba Libre and then waited in line for about an hour and a half to be let in! I will not put any spoilers since it is awesome, but I will say believe the hype and go see it for yourself because it was everything the hype said it was and more. Aaron Ekhart and Heath Ledger were amazing in the movie. The film was visually amazing as well since I saw it on IMAX some of those panning and flying scenes were amazing! Also its dark as hell and is not a movie for the family, I would say keep the kids at home due to the violence.

Highlights from Insubordination Fest for me was
Be My Doppleganger from the first night, they were real good!
before the start of friday my friend proved me wrong and we found a bagel place, it was decent, but not great. Bought records at Celebrated Summer Records(which is quite a nice establishment in towson). Saw Wall-E, which was fantastic(go see it!). The first 4 bands to start off Friday rocked. Deep Sleep was good and energetic, The Dopamines were good and had a lot of fun egging people on to throw beer cans at them, Dear Landlord was real good, I want to hear a full length from them. OWTH was awesome(I shared with ryan my thoughts about a new song, that there are no good bagels south of philadelphia, bought the man a beer and shared some good laughs. Ryan hates playing shows and hates pop punk hahaha). Got back from dinner to catch the end of the Drunken Cholos who were playing old Queers songs with Wimpy singing which was fun as hell, I love it everytime wimpy sings "I like young girls"(he still does, he had a nice young 20 something at his arm all weekend). Kepi Ghoulis were fun to watch. Ann Beretta was pretty lackluster, even though I was never a fan, the last time I saw them was opening for Boy Sets Fire. The Copyrights and the Ergs sets were awesome(I got threatened by a dudes gf for asking her to come back to my hotel room during Joey Ergs speech about how girls should have the easiest time getting laid at the fest this weekend and if they didn't they should hang it up, I was drunk and didn't care!)
Saturday was a marathon!
I saw short attention to open up. This band makes me happy everytime I see them. They are always so energetic and waste no time wit their sets playing as many songs as possible. Saw some of the Proteens set and it was alright nothing great so I went outside to sit. I walked in near the end of Karmellas Game, not to into their style of pop, but wanted to see Chinese Telephones who were on next who were fantastic. They were fun for seeing them FINALLY! Next was Doc Hopper who was fun nothing amazing but what I expected. Lunch Break before For Science and Lemuria. Both bands are some of my favorites playing the fest. For Science was fun but Joe the guitarist was in his own little world. I took another break then saw the most fun set of the fest which was The Steinways. Very hysterical and I loved the signs. The Zatopeks were very energetic and a pleasant surprise. I then saw the Monikers and they were pretty good but the sound guy wasn't very cooperative but the set was still fun. As I said before I saw the tail end of the Sludgeworth set and wish I saw more. I then saw half of the Double Dagger set and was blown away. Bass and Drum band which was very fun! I was then done with the fest and sat outside while jeff and adam watched some of the Weston set.
I am now beaten and I am tired. It was yet another awesome weekend!
