Even I’m impressed. Be still my beating heart, the work of Mr. Carlos Torres is downright phenomenal.
The Italian side montage speaks for itself.
The intricacies his needle leaves behind and the way in which he chooses to arrange his compositions are so Mozart. What really has me smitten to no end is his incredible use of negative space. Torres uses darker pigment to add depth and create borders as apposed to being used to sustain the overall work.
This daily obsession is beyond my words. Do yourself a kindness and check out his digital museum of wonder.

I have been awakened.
Honored, privileged and humbled to introduce Swedish messiah Carl Løfqvist.
Daily obsession is an oversimplification in regards to this master.

If you could connect with a tattoo like you can with another person, wouldn’t that be something? Get those first-time-butterflies. Feel invigorated by “the spark”. Turned on perhaps…
Well, there’s just “something” about Jacob James Gardner. With a small body of art that’s difficult to procure, let alone analyze, I still can’t deny an emotional connection that calmly bubbles to the surface when I stare transfixed into the crafted concoctions and vivid abstractions at hand.
With only two years of scratch under his belt, this young gun is quickly become a veteran of taking risks in the medium. For JJ, it’s not so much about the execution as it is about the composition. Mr. Gardner, no doubt, strives to convey emotion in the soulless eyes of his subjects no matter how he approaches them stylistically.
Peep this daily obsession at the True Tattoo in Varsity Lake.

Have to bring it to ya with the quickness today. Dangerously diggin’ the movement in the works of young gun, Mr. Ryan Jenkins.
With definite influences like Flatmo and Rojas, this man is well under way to developing some mad skill. He seems to have his tentacles in a plethora of mediums, so watch for Sullen to pick up his art on some future shwag.
Hope the day brings this daily obsession more time to pursue his love more then mine has. Mr. Ryan Jenkins.

It’s the season of the witch and lord only knows, there’s nothing sexier or more empowering then a female tattooer. Which is why I’m stoked that I stumbled upon the beautiful and talented Fräulein, Ms. Annie Frenzel.
Self dubbed the german hammer, this girls traditional illustrations are fierce, with intricate lines that give each composition an intense movement and energy.
She’s young, but she’s no young gun. Ladytron has almost a decade of experience under her skirt and harbors a deep love for custom typography and the devine craftsmanship of custom ligatures.

Perhaps its the nostalgia of the morning, a change in the winds or an introverted inspection at play that has me so taken by the charms of Remis Cizauskas.
A true pro, his work is experimental in it’s nuances with a breath of the unapologetic.
For over a decade, this Lithuanian born Dubliner has been inking folks from all over the globe, influenced by the likes of experimental realists like Alex De Pase and Carlos Rojas.
This daily obsession, without a doubt, is a force to be reckoned.

There are many things that keep me coming back through the pearly gates of the infamous Freak Chic Tattoo shoppe, Ms. Alison Casson is at the top of that list.
I’ve been bitten by the young-gun-bug and I bring her to you wrapped in velvet, motor oil and barbed wire in hopes that you’ll find adoration for this truly rare beast…I mean artist.
Everything this lady touches is filled with a whimsical pencil sketch quality tenderly suffused with effects of collage and tendrils of watercolor.
The work is disruptive, yet thoughtful and I am absolutely adoring how she is translating it to the tattoo medium. The girls’ got ways to go, but she’s already on the right track with customers lining up to let her execute pieces from her illustrative collection. I myself hope to join that crowd soon enough, maybe you guys can help me decide which one of Alison’s original works to get done.

On a side note: If you’re in the Los Angeles area, I highly recommend dropping in on Freak Chic Tattoo and their sister gallery Tuff Sissy & Co. They’ve got an unrivaled body jewelry collection (thanks to the talents of resident artist Allen Dabbs), and an equally sick staff lead by owner Mat Joseph.

I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the one drinking here, although one would assume after viewing the work of Arlin Ffrench, that they might perhaps have had one too many.
Schizophrenic - yes. Precarious - absofuckinglutely. It’s ok if you’re asking yourself: What the fuck am I looking at here?
This young gun from the grimy, yet gentrified streets of Vancouver’s ‘Gastown,’ is taking great risk by displaying such artistic candor at such an early stage in his career. Which can either be perceived as frighting or enlightening. I’ll leave it to you to be the judge, since I can’t seem to make up my mind. It’s as if he can’t decide whether his mode should lend itself more toward vector art on skin or obvious muse Volco from Buena Vista Tattoo Club.
There’s a sneaking suspicion that this mint obsession is going to “bring it” in the future, so keep your eye on him and the rest of the folks at Gastown Tattoo Parlour.

WHAT BE THIS? A traditional evolution perchaps? Do my simple eyes deceive me so?
I believe not! Behold! The amazing feats of Mr. Adam Hathorn of Pacific Beach Cali. Not only has this man carved out a wickedly epic and original stronghold for himself in the craft, but he gets to play daily with the likes of Paul Dhuey, A Della Vedova, and Nate Banuelos at the infamous Guru Tattoo.
There is no smidgin of a doubt that this gent is all shock n’ awe, with a touch of sentimentality and a shit-load of nonconformity.
The attitude and style reflected in his work reminds me of the East Coast’s finest, Mr. Cavan Infante, with a lil’ less graffiti and pinch more traditional.
Extremely worthy of holding today’s title of Daily Obsession, Mr. Adam Hathorn.

Tickled shitless, I browse Tanane Witfields handiwork with breathless candor.
There is no limit to this gents sense of humor that’s so shamelessly reflected in every highlight of each caricature. This rising star appears to have an unabashed hunger for knowledge, fueled by influencers like Jessie Smith and mediums like comic books, cartoons and graffiti.
Mr. Witfield is a social media connoisseur, who’s works-in-progress can be riffled through for hours. Keep your eye on this daily obsession who as other artists like Cecil Porter lining up at his door to get inked.
