I haven't been around in a few days due to my old 2008 MacBook Pro dying on me. I drove 3 hours to the closest Apple store to see what it would cost to get it fixed. It ended up being that the main board died and would be about $600 bucks, and that when they sent it away, they could possibly find "other things" wrong with it and charge me for that as well.
I talked to a sales rep and figured out that the cheapest model of the new MBP would be 4x faster than my current one and would only cost about $400 more than getting my old one fixed. So that's what I did! So far I am really liking it, a lot lighter, smoother lines, and a better feeling keyboard. Not to mention that the battery actually holds a charge now, as opposed to my old one that I *had* to keep plugged in, and it would get SUPER hot after running for awhile so forget holding it on your lap.
Anyways! Enough about that.
While I was in St. Paul I spent the evening with one of my best friends. One of the only people I would truly consider a close *friend* and not just someone that you sort of get along with, but wouldn't share secrets and feelings with.
We started the evening with a walk to the LQ and got some Crispin Hard Cider and some beer. We then walked up to check his newest painting right off of Hwy 52 in the construction area. Being that it is MASSIVE you could clearly see it from the road we were on which was probably half a kilometer away. Not to mention all of the cars on the highway above it.

We then headed back to his apartment to wait for his girlfriend and after she arrived spent the rest of the evening trudging around town using home made wheat paste to put up a bunch of his posters. Being ex-military I had a blast playing lookout for him which he didn't think was necessary except a few instances when a cop was headed towards us and I told him to stop so he walked towards me with a cigarette. The second was just a state vehicle that didn't really seem like anything serious.
Anyways all! Check out his art here!
