You clearly have good taste sir. I don't usually pick up stand alone novels but I'm a fan of Joe Hill as you've probably gathered.
As for Underworld, no Selene didn't become human in Evolution. She fed on Alexander Corvinus the first immortal and the progenitor of both the lycans and the vampires. His blood imbues her with additional abilities including enhanced strength, healing capabilities and resistance to daylight.
