Man... today is going to be kind of a hard day for us here at home. My roommate's brother is leaving tomorrow for ARMY Basic. I'm really excited for him, but at the same time, he's already mentioned that he's going to be an Engineer.... Sounds good, right? .... Yeah. No. His mom, of course, is already worried about him, so neither of us have mentioned exactly what his job would entail... Granted, I'm not even sure HE knows. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping I'm wrong.

He'll be good he'll still be out doing stuff...however it won't be too bad...by the time he gets out of basic and AIT there probably won't be too many deployments happening....he should be fine....but the life does change you...you meet many different people and things open up he'll probably become much more mature...good luck for him

He’ll do great, be proud. I am not entirely sure how the US Army works but in the Canadian Army there are Combat Engineers and Construction Engineers, two very different jobs.
