I went and saw Sucker Punch and Red Riding Hood yesterday. Armed with some beer (thanks for opening early Beer Revolution) and popcorn, I made it through two movies (tried for a 3rd but that movie theater is small and they almost spotted my movie-hopping)
General thoughts, obviously Sucker Punch was visually stimulating and daring but the trope of BabyDoll's "missions" coinciding with her "dancing" made everyone laugh. I really did love all the actors though and Jon Hamm's random appearance was most welcome. The man wears a sexy ass white suit. I also enjoyed the Inception-like layers upon layers in the mind.
Red Riding Hood was way better than expected. The Wolf was actually pretty scary and the mystery wasn't easy to suss out. Plus it had what Catherine Harwicke was missing from the Twilight movies ... SEX! Amanda Seyfried is an amazing actress too. Anyways, good stuff all around.
Then I just walked through Oakland which was gorgeous yesterday. It was sunny and amazing. Loved it.

So I'm on Spring Break this week which means a lot of sleeping and laying in bed but I'm definitely doing some movies at Jack London tomorrow ($5 movie Tuesdays!) and First Friday in Oakland. Any other (cheap!) suggestions?

My life is not that exciting. I moved out of my apt and now I live with roommates (a decision I regret on a bi-weekly basis). I remain perpetually broke but at least now the reason I'm broke is because I'm saving money to travel. And finally, I've been without sex for far, far too long. Tired, only had 2 weeks off and I'm spending a lot of that time planning for the new school year.
The Ugly:
The bedbugs are still here because apparently the exterminator can't find a time to come out here and I think they're spreading. I just spent my afternoon taping garbage bags over my couch and hoping to god they're not in there because I can't afford to buy a new couch (which I'd have to do).
Yay.

So I know they say life never gives you more than you can handle but I'm seriously questioning the validity of that little adage. As if bedbugs, consistent lack of money and the general personal and professional shittiness of my life weren't enough, the ONE THING that gives me joy (my television) just fell over and cracked today. And I got a shiny sliver of hope (the warranty/protection plan was still in effect) only to have it dashed away when I got to the store. Apparently the phone operator was wrong and my plan didn't cover accidents (what did I have this plan for again if it doesn't cover basic fucking accidents?) so I still have to buy a new tv.
I've been trying really hard just to kind of make it through these past few weeks but it seems that every silver lining is followed by a shit ton of rain. I'm kind of over it. I just want to sleep until my life changes.

Ten days until my 27th birthday! (not sure if the exclamation point belongs there)
I just finished my detox and now I'm trying to ease back into eating heavier stuff. I'm feeling the itch for a change (could also be the massive amount of cleaning I'm doing too, my house is dusty). I'm trying to decide if I should shell out and get my hair braided or something. I want to look different.
I definitely want to do it up for my birthday. I want to do dinner, shake my ass and just end up so twisted I don't know what's going on. I can't believe my twenties are almost over and I still want to party like it's 1999 (though to be honest my best partying years were probably post-2000 but ever since I met Prince, I like to drop references in there as much as possible).
I basically want to go out looking like this again:
I know that was Slutoween but still it's always fun. Don't know how my friends out here would feel about that. Don't think they want to get dressed up like that. My girls in NY are a bit more adventurous.
