So, as I sit here starting on my second drink tonight. I started to ponder. In life, we strive to make something of ourselves. Whether to be a special doctor or lawyer or whatever it is we choose to be we actually make efforts to be this person. What I have learned over my 41 years of the 1st quarter of my life is this; we strive to be something we actually don't want to be. As a child I remember the first time I ever saw the Hula Bowl. Since that moment in life I told myself "Self You will live and die in Hawaii." At no point did I tell myself "self you will be an IT guy or computer geek or Network/System Administrator."
I chose to be a part of life, life that was sunny, bright, and full of energy and board shorts in the winter time. At some time in this life I will move forward (80 years from now When that time happens, what will I tell those I have left behind and surpassed? I can say that I chose a dream in life to live the dream; to live the path that I had chosen from child hood. Do I feel that I am not worthy of an adult life of gratitude with a home, a family, a stable life. No I can proudly say that I have lived the life I wanted. I chose a path as a child and fulfilled it. That path has many branches and my tree of life extends beyond the borders of any city, state, or country.
When my time comes my friends will always be able to say He did live his life the way he wanted" "He was proud of that with no regrets" "He made mistakes that will forever Haunt him but again; He learned from that." To all my friends and family; Remember that we dreamt a little dream as a child, we strived to achieve that dream; and at some point in this life or the next we will live that dream.
