this isn't my fortune... but that doesn't matter

to elaborate... it has been snowing really bad in the area where i live and work. so much so that i couldn't make it in myself. as soon as it stopped snowing the roads started to freeze and became significantly more dangerous. so, i called my store manager (im the assistant) and explained how bad it was. he called our district manager to explain how bad it was. she then had to call her regional manager for approval. as the conditions continued to worsen and as cars slid and got stuck on the road outside my house i said fuck it and called my employees. i told them that corporate would continue to drag their feet. to just go home. that their safety was more important to me than my job. i told my boss who had insisted that we need to wait for approval. and i told him that i really didn't care how much trouble i got into or even if i got fired. i wouldn't be able to take it if any of my coworkers got hurt cuz i didn't have the guts to do what i felt was right.
