Haven't you heard...?
It's all the rage...!
Energy suppliers scamming run riot!!!
In PA *and many others* we are allowed to bid for our energy supplier rates vs the static *oopsie I made a pun😆* rates posted by the individual utilities. PA's current *ha! another😆* electric rate is 12.75 cents/kilowatt hour. I however locked into a sweet contract way back in November last year until June 2018 from a CO electric supplier for a fixed term rate of ... Tadaa... 8.1 cents!!! ...
... annnnnd that was up until today 😖
Some corporate tick turd 💩 pushed whatever buttons to phish my electric account, then spoof an account request changing my supplier to his company ... at 18 cents 😱 ~ one of the highest in the nation!
My original 8.1 contract got nuked --- and according to my electric utility the open enrollment period expired already, and my 'new' rate would stick!
Ok, for y'all out there without a sharp pencil, this means my electric bill will jump by an average of 30-40% *$45-75* per month starting in June ... and they say I can't do a fucking thing about it -
- well ok, they didn't actually say "fucking"... I just added that as a geo reference to where my head is at the moment 👿 !!!
So yeah... looks like I'm going to court, and my attorney *I despise those Grubby Bastards 💸!!!* says most likely on the national news as well.
My advice...? If you pay your own bill, or as part of your landlord's/rommate's agreements, double check the actual printed bill itself --- and ESPECIALLY the supplier's NAME and BILLED RATE vs their quoted rates --- just to keep your utility company on the up and up! Literally they don't give a damn! YOU have to do it for yourself!
