I've been listening to all this music that gets me really inspired to create and reading articles that really get me thinking, now I've just got to do something with all this creative energy. Mission for the day: get at least one track partially finished.
Sick again, what am I doing up so late again? I just got out of debt and now I'm running off looking for more things to spend my money on.
On a positive note, I started work at a new pub last night, and hopefully will be getting more shifts there. It's just down the road from my girly's house, also it's her birthday soon so I get to buiy her something nice. Wonder what it'll be...

My trivia night end up as a complete success, the competition was close with the winner only winning by one point. Two teams actually knew what the capital of Burkina Faso was. I was surprised.
After that I propped up the bar with Bill and my girly until there were too many college kids to bear and we bailed. Now I have a hangover and I have to start work in 45 minutes. Bugger, but good.

New picture up over there, I was getting a bit sick of the old one. Ages ago A and I took some photos when we were really drunk that were going to be my new profile piccs but I looked kind of dead in most of them. That was cause I passed out as she was taking them, in some she's trying to peel my eylids open and I'm just lying there in a passed out kind of way.

Here is a short list of the things that went wrong on Friday night, Friday night being our big gig that we'd been looking forward to for weeks.
-We couldn't find the backing sequence for one of the songs we wanted to play.
-Get to the gig and the main band apologise for the pa. It's really underpowered, made up from a bucnh of old (we're talking 70's) gear with no active crossovers. There was no eq save for the seven band on the desk so they had to go out and get one, but then didn't have enough balanced leads for both mics.
-I fell over walking up the stairs carrying a keyboard and a box of leads and stuff and bruised both my knees.
-We're told the pa is running off one powerboard and if we push the levels too hard the circuit breaker will pop shutting the system down until someone goes and resets it. This has already happened a couple of times.
-The earthing is dodgy and someone gets zapped by their instrument. There's talk of shutting the gig down even though it's sold out.
-We realise we left two keyboard stands and powerboards at the gig on Wednesday night. Dan sets off in peak hour traffic to see if they're still there.
-Nothing has gone wrong for a while, we go on in an hour so we try to find out about our rider. Turns out our drink cards were given to someone to give to us but he thought they were his, and has disposed of them all. We get $20 out of the pocket of one of the organisers between the four of us.
Surprisingly enough the gig went really well, no complaints except it would have been nice to be louder.Lots of people dance, we make fun of the e'd up yuppies afterwards. I saw Derek. Hi Derek!
No gigs for a while, time to concentrate on other things like getting an ep out. I've got my bedroom all set up for making music, made a crazy track yesterday. Fun fun fun!

Tonight I went in to the city after practice to see a friend's band's film clip launch. I managed to pull off the walk straight in without paying trick again, but went back cause it was only $2 and for a good cause. (production costs)
The film clip was great, look out for it on rage. It's whatever happened to the paperless office, by the sailors. After the video they played a weird accoustic set, my housemate hadn't seen them before and I had talked them up a bit and this wasn't what he was expecting. Oh well. Swung by the bar I'm hoping to get a job at on the way home and it was completely empty, but had a chat to the guy working there and learned the manager's back and I should be having my trial soon.

I spent most of the weekend with my lovely lady, and all of monday. I miss her already, and it's only been two hours. :sigh:

I'm listening to a mix cd I picked up last night in a random mix swap at the gig. It's really good, I feel a bit guilty cause I didn't have time to put a track listing on the one I put in. Hopefully whoever got it can figure out who's on it.

Wow, I never realised it was 80's hair metal before.
I wrote a track yesterday for my lady to sing on, just got to figure out how to get the vocal in my computer. I hope she likes it, it's my present to her for being a bit crap lately.

My days are empty and my nights are full, I think I might go do some postering in the dead of night this week, a friend has some posters he wants to put up for his label so maybe we could mix some art up with it. Might as well do something worthwhile at night and sleep all day.
