Ahh... its been a while since i've let myself back here.
In the interests of productivity im trying to limit the 'wonder whats new on SG' urges. It all too commonly ends waking up in my chair cuddling an empty wine bottle while the latest offering from some beautiful young creature parades across my screen.
It would be easier if there were less photosets... or maybe the girls were a bit more generic... less interesting.
Its really quite unfair.
anyway,...
I went to bali for a week to attend a friends wedding.
Had a much more interesting time than USA
I rode around on a scooter, persued the endless dream of a meal that would fill me up, drank lots of bintang, learned some local language (mostly variations on 'No Thanks, i have one/ dont need it/already wearing sunglasses''), drank too much arak and danced the traditional courtship dance to the gamelan at the wedding, fed monkeys and saw a cock fight (razors... harsh)
The poverty was a little disturbing, but as with most people who live 'close to the earth' they seemed a whole lot more content than your average westerner.
The last night i decended from the mountains and decided to go clubbing near Kuta (tourist town) for a very different experience.
Beggars, prostitutes, transvestites, drunk lecherous middleaged men with teenage balinese girls. Nothing like the quiet, restrained culture i saw in the mountains.
but i felt more at home ... was even paying AU$8 a beer at some shiny club playing crappy house anthems... just like oxford st really.
wow.. ive written a novel... anyway,
The SG burlesque show in newcastle was great too. Reagan totally stole the show.
all i can say is COME BACK!
