so for those of you who are unaware, i am officially moving back to orlando. i have been back and forth between orlando and sarasota at least once a week and am slowly moving my stuff up each time i come. i will still be coming to sarasota semi frequently over the summer, but i will be spending yet even more of my time in orlando.
one of the reasons i will continue to be coming to srq is that i am getting SCUBA certified with my two roommates. tomorrow is our certification dive. Mnislahi also just got certified, but in orlando because she was unable to be in sarasota for the classes that we were attending. over the summer, my roommates, Mnislahi, and I are going to take some advanced courses, like nitrox diving and night diving.
i used to watch the show The Shield when it was on FX, but i only watched the first two seasons on DVD and then stopped because i didn't want to wait a week between episodes because the third season was still airing. never got back into it when the rest of the seasons came out on DVD. recently i bought the entire series on DVD and have been watching it with my roommates. that show is fucking amazing.
been doing some slow cooking recently. so far i have made vegetarian shepherds pie, mushroom goulash, and chicken jambalaya. slow cooking is fucking awesome. it takes very little effort and then you just wait a long time and food is prepared. i highly recommend you all buy slow cookers.
started a record label, Mod House Productions, with the band, The River City Rebels, a while ago so we could put out our own material and that of a few artists we have worked closely with. that is finally starting to show fruit. we just put out an album by our close friend, Tony Hill. next is our new album, which has gone to press and should be done in a few days. website for the label should go live in a few days as well. also, we are working on our next european tour, which should be happening later this year, probably october/novemberish. the boys also might be doing a short US tour this summer sometime, but this is also currently tentative.
also, Toots and the Maytals album "True Love" is amazing. it is a bunch of Toots songs that are rerecorded with Toots, the Maytals, and special guests, including but not limited to Eric Clapton, Ryan Adams, Bootsy Collins, the Roots, Willie Nelson, Jeff Beck, No Doubt, the Skatalites, Ben Harper, Keith Richards, Shaggy & Rahzel. seriously, this album is fucking nuts. i love it.

so i have been in Europe on tour with my band since the new year. we played our last show last night and i am waiting until we get back to the states on sunday to make a real update with pictures et al. just wanted to let you know i am alive and come monday you will see what i have been up to. here is a taste. <3

fuck yes, thanksgiving. i don't understand why we have a half week for thanksgiving, then another half week and then exams. the end of fall semester at my school is peculiar. anyway, so, anyway, as i just mentioned, half week this week (except for spanish exam on friday) and botany exam early next week and i am fecking done, kids.
dang, i am feeling good about this. kind of lack motivation to actually try to do well on the remaining work as i am not actually graduating so much as i am withdrawing since working on the label and with the band these days offers me much less time and availability to work on my schoolwork to the degree that it requires of me. as a result, neither passing with flying colors nor just fucking off and not even taking the exams will actually affect my future in any real capacity. i am gonna finish this next week out though, just for good measure. there will be plenty of time to fuck off after that is done.

So, for those of you who I haven't already talked to about this, this is my last semester at school. Come Dec 2, I am done with classes. I will be spending a good portion of the holidays in Orlando. Later in the month sometime i am flying to New York for rehearsals and then flying to Europe on Dec 30 for tour. I will be back state-side on January 24 and should be back in Florida shortly after that. Despite being out of classes, I still have a lease with my to friends down here in Sarasota until the summer, so I will be splitting my time between the two cities until the summer. In that time period, I plan on finishing the furnishing of my condo so it is fully prepared for me to move in when the summer rolls around.
I fully intend on way more crucial hang time now that school and Sarasota won't be stealing all my time away from all the cool kids.
It's good to be back.
