A Dance

As the last gleaming light fades with final grace
from the face of the blood red summer sun
the hiss of teeming Cicada fills the void
the golden globe has left behind

Your powdery smell magically wafts into me
lifts the night with its sullen heat
into my too proud lungs
and perfumes my heavy sighs

I feel you in me so delicately at first
as the moonlight licks your flying heels
filling me with pure child-like delight
by the swaying of your literary hips
hooded eyes so hypnotised

Blood thumping with regular jungle beat
rushing streams fuelling passions
hot smells of Frangipani beckoning
your curved neck, simple heaven

I watch with bittersweet agony
your sun-kissed cheeks spread by smile complete
a barrier of glass once sand
Heaven beneath my hand

I pour this dance as liquid lace
the ink trails its sweet blood
and from pen does trace
our steps which flow
with such ease and grace.

Words subtle and free
refresh like wind in my ears
the same twinkling stars we both sleep under
Keep falling ever so near.

Mercury & Silver

Crashing through tangled limbs so blindly
hot, streaming tears blot out the twilight landscape
torn strips of clothes hang forlornly
snagged on broken branches for evermore
the ghosts inside burn bright torches in his heaving chest
mind full of the silvery bright betrayal
so fresh, so near

In small forgotten fragments
he wanders around his emptiness
his mind's an attic, a wasteland space
of heirlooms noone wanted
long gone the faces and the times
but the memories remain
like dust and windchill, chiming gloom
his heart a fainter feeling
with every beat
thickening anticipation

Sticky silver webs cling in silvery globules
his sodden face clammy
greasy forelock stuck to defeated brow
Fire takes hold from deep within churning bowels
rage squeezes him with its heavy metallic embrace
he screams with abandon
his sorrow borne away on freezing nocturnal wind

Eight-legged Arachne
in her webs entangled
luring in the unexpecting
her crooked ways, her sharpened fangs
ready to jump
his every move
a deathdefying science

Heavy footsteps snatch him from black misery
loud panting ricochets like hot bullets
knotty tree limbs point their accusations at him
fear - new and bright takes hold
limbs filled with a rush of panic
his ears full of the sounds of his rushing blood
his mind implodes!

In silver streams she came to him-
her breasts as cold as ice-
will you kneel before me? she said-
and he had no right to deny
her friendship's close
her body's near
her fragile limbs, so refined
but her wretched tongue so
twisted and split
spat out her last goodbye

Angel on Fire

It was a dream,
that brought her to me.
An angel?
A demon?
Pray tell who are thee?

She washed through my conscience,
a spectre sublime.
Was she the truth?
Or was it my mind?

Unbidden she whispered,
a tale I will tell,
of beauty and wisdom,
of heaven,
of hell.

She awoke me to visions,
where light played with folds,
and showed me a vista,
of glittering gold.

I tell you my breath,
was torn from my lungs,
my legs turned to jelly,
my mind filled with sun.

She lifted me from obscurity,
my ears sang with the flight,
as she secretly transported me,
swiftly through the night.

As the source of our existence,
rose into the heavens,
I was cleansed by the revelations,
by her purpose,
her reverence.

Up we flew through star filled skies,
which were slowly obliterated,
by the dawn,
by her might.

All the while she whispered,
so softly,
so true.
I cannot tell you what,
for I wish I knew.

My heart beat so loudly with fear,
and with shame,
at my nakedness,
for she had me inflamed.

Gentle seductress,
I wilted in her soft glare,
as she took me so softly,
and my soul ensnared.

Soft golden bonds,
now bind me to her soul.
I am enraptured and obeisant,
to my deity,
my Goddess,
my whole.

We flew too high that night,
and my Angel,
my Demon,
did burn her wings.

We fell back to earth,
with a peaceful sigh,
and fell to our deaths,
with an inaudible cry.

My heart was wrenced,
from its safe haven to see,
my beauty,
my light,
engulfed in flames as was she.

I then knew no God,
no power above,
could love her as much,
as I,
my flower.

For she gave up her life,
for my piffling strife.
She forsook her destiny,
jut to protect me.

Never again have dreams,
meant the same,
I hang my head,
as I call her name.

Sweet sorrow,
I remember,
my Angel,
so warm and so tender
was Ruby Claret,
so slight and so slender.

RUSH

Sitting in a twilight silence filled with anxiety,

stones cutting through lightly soiled jeans,

chafing boney backside.

Cold night air bringing promise of sweet release,

jungle beats and animal heat.

Shuffling footsteps cause nape hair to stand erect,

peddler of my small token delights,

approaches carefully in his toothless might,

the gnawing hunger within,

ignited afresh by what I will soon slip in.

In desperation to slake my craving addict thirst,

full of thoughts of pleasures untold,

I dropped a single round piece of delight,

and away it rolled, away from my sight.

FUCK screamed my aching mind,

only enough to keep me going until 4!

Knives, Guns Drugs?!

Demanded naked ape at the funhouse door.

I climb the grimy stairs to the beckoning first floor,

feeling the flicker of wings at my quick heels.

A field of dreamy light and gleaming teeth greet me,

the soft throbbing music such sweet symphony.

It beckons me with velvety finger to cavernous floor,

with a silvery mirror to vainly admire my dancers snake hips and hooded glinting eys.

Smoke machine hissing sweet clouds towards me,

strobe lights kissing my closed eyes so endlessly,

trip-hop beat lifts my stagnant blood from the safety of its tracked home,

pushing it hard through its racing red reservoir.

BOOM!

release for my addled brain,

air turns to liquid,

my life a silvery refrain.

Held aloft by a mass of teeming bodies,

we are one, warm, loose, free and inside each other.

Water with cool liquid crystals,

cleanses parched throat,

icy Tiger Balm touching conscience,

lifting me back lizard-like to the bank of flashing miniature suns,

RUSH releases me........

Floating free in the sea of bodies,

sheer delight in the DJ's smooth endless flow,

God in see-through box,

the divine message so clear.

I reach out, you touch me,

and I feed you so much more sustenace,

on joy, we are drowning with need.

I breathe you, you fill me,

I hold you, you melt into me.

One body, two heads we fly away freely,

push our way down the grimy old stairs,

past grinning knuckle draggers,

AAAAAAHHHHHHH,

fresh morning sunlight tips purple horizon,

we gulp in the last vestiges of the wonderful night.
