Easing back into virtual social interaction. Don't all cheer at once.
Unfortunately, I'm a little physically out of comission to go out and see many of my friends, and I'm in a frustrating process of trying to find out why and what I can do about it (somewhere between my dr's staff and my insurance company, I'm being ass-raped). I'll spare you the story, (something's fucked up in my back or something) it's annoying and lots of you know anyway.
It's extra-frustrating, because it's not like i lay around in pain or whacked out on drugs all day, I just sit here, do my work (more busy now than when I was in the office), and wait to either get better while I wait unneccesarilly long to get told if it's more serious or if there's something else I should be doing to fix it.
I'll spare you any diatribe on my thoughts about taking the long break, but I missed the friends that I couldn't easilly talk to without the site, so here I am.
-Anyhow, Suffice it to say if you leave me comments now I should actually see and answer them, and I apologize to any of my friends who wanted to keep in touch but I wasn't in the mood to deal with doing it through this medium.

Why can't an event be hosted by Macallan or Patron, or Jagermeister or even Jack fucking Daniels, for crying out loud?...it's always gotta be fucking Absolut, the publicity-savvy bastards.
You know I'm not about to turn down free drinks all night, you fuckers, why'd you have to make the only free ones the ones that are made with that evil odorless potato-juice you so desperately want to peddle to me?

In other news, this little webcomic is occasionally quite fucking brilliant, for real.
It seems to rotate between random bits of sketched art, amusing science/math jokes for nerds, little emotional interludes, experimental/surreal artwork, and sheer brilliant wit. Give it up for stick figures and graph paper. and OMG random Guitar Hero reference
Oh, and I didn't even know, holding your mouse over each comic, the tooltips that pop up have little comments...neat! Sometimes it's like half the joke!

WooHoo, paintings are done and delivered, I can now clean up and prepare for my trip to SF tomorrow guilt-free.

I decided not to attempt the trip with my brother, with his full consent. He called and said he figured the only way it could be done would be me flying to meet him in denver, then driving up from there to detroit with him, and then flying back. Ultimately, it would have been fun to spend 5 days driving with him and finding stuff to see, but it was going to be expensive to pay for those flights, no matter which way either of us tried to work it out, and It'd still require taking 3 days off with pretty short notice. I'm a little bummed it couldn't work out but ultimately glad there wasn't too much pressure to really do it.
So yeah. gonna be a fun weekend, and when I get back, I will jump back into some level of action at work as some projects will have started up. I might still consider starting up another run of paintings, though, this time without the pressure of a definite deadline over my head. It really did help me get through a lot of work in a short amount of time and forced me to focus, but the lack of sleep towards the end here was taking it's toll. So if you liked the stuff I did recently, feel free to drop me a line after the 4th of July holiday about a comission for a painting (or even a tattoo)
