I hope this Memorial Day weekend(in the US) finds everyone healthy and happy. To all my friends around the globe, Cheers!

Great News! My wife is going home from the hospital today. Both back surgeries went off without a hitch, and she is doing fantastic! Thanks to everyone's kind words and well wishes, it definitely makes a difference! smile And I sincerely appreciate it! smile

There is a new Alt Rock station up in Baltimore called Channel 104.3. I am sending them a demo and hoping that I might have a shot at a full time gig as a DJ so I can finally leave Traffic reporting in the dust. But, even if it doesn't happen, my job beats digging ditches and I still think that I am one of the luckiest people around. Seriously, I actually get paid to talk for a living. And just to think all those years when my parents and teachers were always telling me to shut the hell up! LOL biggrin

Anyway, enjoy the rest of your weekend!! smile smile smile

Happy Saturday All!

The latest Top Five:

1. Newton Faulkner: Dream Catch Me
2. Duffy: Mercy
3. Patti Smith: Because the Night
4. Raconteurs: Salute your Solution
5. Foo Fighters: Let it Die

I know, I know...I went a little old school with Patti Smith. But, I got to meet her on Friday. She is in DC promoting the documentary about her career. I will hopefully have a pic to post soon. As soon as I can get it from the Promotions department. smile

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend! It's just starting to rain here...a thunderstorm is also on the horizon too. frown Seeya! biggrin biggrin

Happy Saturday All!

Hope everyone's enjoying themselves. Just chillin' at my radio station spinning some cool tunes. My wife and I are going to see a performance of MacBeth at the Folger Theatre in DC tomorrow night. Can you believe that there is sleet in the weather forecast for tomorrow??? WTF???!!!

This will be one of the last times we will go out for awhile. My wife's back surgery is scheduled for Tuesday May 20th. It's a two stage process...first surgery is Tuesday morning, part two is on Thursday. She will probably be in the hospital for 4-5 days. Recovery time is approximately 4-6 weeks. Full recovery is about 9-12 months. It sucks, but this will definitely improve my wife's quality of life, which, as far as I'm concerned, is all that matters.

And finally, on a more important note...I want to get my wife a gift after her surgery. Something nice to make her feel good, and definitely to cheer her up. She's already told me no more Coach bags. I was thinking a nice piece of jewelry instead. Ladies, I'll am trolling for assistance! You help would be greatly appreciated. Already assume that I will get her more flowers than what she knows what to do with. After that, any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Take care all! smile

Here's the latest five songs that I need to have on the Ipod/MP3 player:

1. Robert Plant and Strange Sensation: "Shine It All Around"
2. 3 Doors Down: "It's Not My Time"
3. Kate Nash: "Foundations"
4. Presidents of the U.S.A.: "Mixed Up S.O.B."
5. Kiss: "Detroit Rock City"

The last is to celebrate the release of Kiss' album Destroyer on this day in 1976. Plus, I also caught Gene Simmons' reality show "Family Jewels" for the first time this past week on A&E. OMG...I had not laughed that hard in a number of years. His companion Shannon Tweed and their kids are hysterical and Gene is an absolute trip. I recommend it highly.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Seeya soon! Rich smile smile smile

OK...I believe I have hit an all new lame-ass low. I've been back at the gym on a regular basis for a little over a month...started a new lifting program, trying to build myself up a bit and just get into better shape. I think along those lines, I've done ok so far.

So, I'm at the gym Monday morning, getting onto the lying leg curl machine, and I may have cracked a rib lying on the bench. I slid onto it a little awkwardly and caught the edge of the bench, just to the rigth of my sternum. Ever since, certain movements, and even breathing at times, has been a chore. I'm going to the doctor on Monday to get checked out. I suck! frown frown

On a more positive note..I'm going to do some slow cooker pork BBQ tomorrow, and I am also going to try doing my own Fish n' chips. I watched them do it on America's Test Kitchen, and I want to give it a shot myself. My wife isn't about to argue with that either. smile It won't even come close to what I've sampled on trips to the UK, but I'm hoping for success!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far! smile smile I do wonder if I'm approaching 44 or 84 every now and then...Oh well. Seeya! biggrin
