So, I was just coming out the subway, and well.. it turns out the mayor of Toronto lives about 5 minutes from me.
I voted for him, I think he'll do wonders for the city (hopefully) and given his predecessor, it's not a huge stretch of the imagination.
I talked to him for a few minutes regarding the city's budget shortfalls (in particular public transit - considering we both just walked out of the subway) and he was extremely nice, willing to talk, and even explain how certain funds are distributed among municipal/provincial/federal lines and how they're appropriated to city services.
All in all, a nice experience. Re-affirming. It's not very often that you meet who you've voted for, even if you do, more times than not they're sick of everyone bothering them and not interested in talking.
I can't really blame them though.
