I just went to my local independent bookstore and picked up a few interesting books.
Trout Mask Replica is the story of the record album of the same name by Captain Beefheart. Very avant guarde and definately not for everyone, but one of my favourite albums. This is part of a series of nearly 100 books about seminal record albums. A History of Violence is a film study of the movie of the same name, which I always found very intriguing. I have never read a film study before, so I am looking forward to reading this. Again this is part of a series, this one about Canadian cinema. Incredible Numbers is about just that. These books represent a cross-section of some of my interests - musical, film, math and science.
This bookstore is really cool, most books there are ones I have not seen anywhere else.
