Nerdy little secret #2:
I kinda dig the new Death Cab.
This is a big deal for me, the embittered old mmouse fan who was pissed that they had to play a park concert with death cab. I dont mind a band becoming an 'it' thing, but it kills the concert-going experience. The best thing about death cab being there was that i didnt miss anything the hour I stood in line for a beer. Afterwards every fifteen year old in the world* was telling me how blown away they were by death cab. What a turn off. Still, I remain resolutely open-minded and therefore went home to 'steal' some albums off the internet. For the most part, blah, but I did dig a few songs..
So, fastforward. I download the new album and find myself working on my laptop (yah, punkrock!) and tapping my fingers on my desk a bit to enthusiastically.
Oh well, it's not like I ever denied being a nerd.

*"...every fifteen year old in the world..." that was in the gas station down the street from the park, in line for the bathroom, and talking to me.
