You're charcoal filtered,
Sun yellow malt liquor,
You make my grey skies blue

For years, service levels and memberships have been constrained to precious metals and minerals: bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond. No longer! Now there is a level that extends beyond diamond: double rainbow. All the way.

I received my insurance renewal in the mail and was happy to see that my rates dropped about $30 a month. Responsible driving FTW.

My account will expire relatively soon, and I'm OK with that. In fact, I kind of had to push a button to make that happen. I don't follow the site as much - if at all - as I used to. Aside from the occasional set that goes up, I pay very little attention. There's no reason for me to pay $50 to not visit a website for another year.

For most of you, I have other ways to stalk keep in touch. For those who I don't have an alternate means of contact for, you can follow me on Twitter. I'm also on Facebook (who isn't?) and if you're clever enough, you can find me via other friends from SG that I've already friended there. biggrin

Today is my birthday, and despite the lack of a cake, ice cream, presents or any of the other traditional birthday fare, I feel like this is the best birthday I've ever had. The past year has been incredible and I feel like the next will be a hundred times so. And do you know who is responsible for it all?

Me. smile

Oh shit, it’s about to get real in here.

As mentioned prior, Las Vegas was fun. Quite an experience, especially when you’re technically supposed to be working.

God, fuck, it’s hot down here. It went from “I love you humans!” at 75 degrees to “Fuck you in the dick!” straight up to 110 degrees. The next car I’m getting will not have black interior and will have tinted windows, I guaran-damn-tee it.

I was at work the other day and happened to glance at Twitter, seeing an update from the Dear Jack Foundation about working the non-profit area on the Warped Tour this year with 11:11am, and they were asking for volunteers to help. I followed a few links, filled out a quick questionnaire via e-mail and ten minutes later I was picked as the last volunteer in Phoenix! I’m really excited to help them out; I have a particularly emotional connection to the Dear Jack Foundation (which I shall not disclose at this time, but it has to do with the last paragraph below – no one is sick, by the way) and I’m terribly happy to finally get to help them out more than just throwing money at them.

I looked up some flights to Boston and found out that we still fly a direct route there, which is excellent because it means I don’t have to hub through Charlotte or Philadelphia. Both of those options are pretty much a no-go for non-rev travel. I really hope I can make it out there maybe this summer or early fall, but I’m not counting on it. I need to make a trip home more, since I haven’t been back to Washington in about two years.

The last eight months have been incredible. I don’t think I’ve ever been happier, as stress-free, as content or as hopeful for the future as I am now. It’s amazing to step back and see how much damage an unhappy and stressful job situation can do to a person. Not all the blame can be put on my old job, though. I’ve made some incredible strides in my personal life in that time as well.

Don’t fuck up now, son.

I was a teenage anarchist / Looking for a revolution / I had the style, I had the ambition / Read all the authors / I knew all the right slogans / There was no war but the class war / I was ready to set the world on fire

P.S. What the fuck is with the paragraph spacing in Word 2K7. Seriously!
