Life has been hectic the last two weeks. I've been working nights teaching my first full class of new people. It's tough to teach stuff in an orderly fashion when you know the subject matter like the back of your hand and don't have a lesson plan. But I'm making due. Class has their final exam on Tuesday and I'll see just how well I taught them.
Outside work, my personal life has been up and down. Been focusing a lot more on the ups so I don't have to think about the downs. It's almost a catch-22, though. Focusing on all the ups means I'm almost endlessly running around, keeping myself busy. If I keep up like this, I'll likely break down eventually anyways. Such is life.
In other news, I'm totally addicted to Rockstar now. I used to down 4-5 cans a week. Now I'm going through 12-14 cans a week. It doesn't help that they're on sale all over the place, as cheap as $2 a can (down from $3). I've gotta get my hands on some of this...

The local liquor store doesn't carry it, so I'm seriously contemplating a weekend roadtrip to Toronto or Ottawa just to fill up a suitcase with this stuff. Costs the same as a regular can, but has vodka in it. Sweet.

The last month has been incredibly fuckin' hectic. Ten, twelve and fourteen hours day at work, often followed by drinks and food with co-workers. In fact, I've spent the last four Thursdays and Fridays out with co-workers.
I finally got my long sought-after promotion two weeks ago. For the interview, I had 48 hours to prepare a 20 minute presentation with a slideshow. It obviously went well as I'm now a trainer at my workplace. This means I'll be teaching brand new employees as well as old employees on new techniques.
I just finished my first two week class last night. It's actually much harder than I thought it would be. For 7 hours a day, I have to constantly be "on". I have to stand up and talk non-stop. Also, I have to entertain. I've got to watch the faces of every student in the class to see when I start to lose them, and then I have to regain their attention. It's a challenge, but I'm adapting and I love it.
A few other things going on right now. My best friend is putting on a dance show at the Fringe Festival with several other friends. The show is absolutely amazing. And my talented girlfriend, Faye, is also displaying some of her amazing work there. Along with her installation, he photography work is all over the flyer and the program. I spent last Saturday's show walking around to everyone going "My girlfriend is in the program!". Needless to say, I'm very proud.
I'm going to go wake up the aforementioned artist and bring her to the Matt and Nat sample sale... I think she forgot!

I often cannot see the forest from the trees.
I am self-centered, despite claiming I'm not.
I am constantly self-absorbed, childishly naive and inexplicably ignorant.
I will never fit an ideal or a mold. I'll never be perfect.
I regularly minimize others' problems.
I am selfish and a hypocrite. I'm a coward too.
For all this, I'm sorry.

Alright... so here I am, pimping out my girlfriend. It's for a good cause, though!
If you love Faye even just a little, if she's ever made you smile, then you owe it to her to go see her naked and leave comments on her Hopefuls set that was originally rejected. Maybe the second time around, SG will see the mistake they made in rejecting her set.
Check it out here and don't forget to comment!
