I love the fact that we have a President who can say, "Come on up to the White House, and we'll have a beer and discuss it." and it happens. Granted it was a big photo-op but "The Beer Summit" as it has been dubbed, is, as I see it, a momentous occasion of proletarianism in the highest office in the land. A bunch of guys sitting, and talking about everyday problems over a beer. I can't really imagine that happening with any other Presidents. Granted the reason why they were there is a rather ridiculous situation. It's true, Obama should have left well enough alone, or gotten the facts, but I do admire his willingness to speak about things that we all know in a daily occurrence. also to sit down with all the parties involved and talk about the matter. Will it end racial profiling, probably not, but it does get the idea out there, and perhaps a starting point for further discussion.

However, all I have to say is, come on Mr President, Bud Light? You're one the most powerful people in the world and you drink Bud Light? Was there really nothing else available. I always thought Obama was a PBR man. Granted I see the reason for choosing a domestic beer, (support America) but there are so many better beers than that swill. Was an micro-brew too bourgeoisie? What about a Miller, or Yuengling, or the aforementioned Pabst? I really not even that upset that it was a Budweiser. The thing that gets me was that it was a light beer. Mr. President, you're in good shape, and you're only having one, why not splurge of a few more calories, and get some better tasting beer. It could have only heightened your coolness factor.

So what's your opinion? What beer do you think Obama should have ordered? What beer would you order if you were meeting with the president?

Clearly he should have been drinking a hard cider. Beer is piss water.

Also, thank you... I need some moving/cleaning fairies to finish this shit for me. *sigh*

After he acted stupidly ,The beer summit was a great save. The prez should have been drinking a micro brew to support small buisness. Bud prolly was a big campaign supporter.

I too was disappointed by the Bud Light. I drink light beer and I think Bud Light is nasty. tongue He could have at least gone for a Miller Chill or Michelob Ultra.
If I were meeting with Obama and had to drink beer out of a mug, I would do Blue Moon. Otherwise, PBR in the can.

Hmmmm, Lone Star if he was in Texas. But, since this beer is at the White House, why not a Sam Adams?

I fully support the the drinking of Pabst. Then I could have told him about my grandfather who drank nothing but and worked as a mechanic at a chemical plant for 40 yrs. He was a die hard Democrat. I love my grandpa, and he would be impressed that our country elected a President who happened to be intelligent after 8 years of insanity.

Here is a Pabst for you sir.

I think its pretty silly actually that this incident recieved so much hype, media attention, and attention from mr. president. Personally, I don't think its that "cool" that our president wastes his, and OUR time on such trivial issues. Why doesn't he sit down with some of the world leaders and have a beer? Obama has not even traveled to Israel since his election, which would be understandable if Israel wasn't one of our most loyal allies throughout history. A recent survey stated that less than 50% of people living in Israel viewed Obama as being on their side, which is pretty weak considering the aforementioned statement about the nations loyalty.

Personally, I would have a hell of a lot more respect for the president if he flew around the world to solve some major issues, and establish himself as leader of one of the greatest nations in the world instead of displaying his immaturity on every major news channel in the world. Again.

And btw, Budweiser isn't owned by an American company. I agree with the comment of at least having a local micro brew.

From CNN:

"The president was drinking Bud Light, Biden was drinking Buckler (a nonalcoholic beer), Gates was drinking Samuel Adams Light and Crowley was drinking Blue Moon."

At least, Gates and Crowley have good taste in beer.

yeah, it is silly, but then again American media thrives on that shit.

I hope you don't think I was dogging on your writing though, just voicing my opinion.

A baby step would just be getting on the plane,.....its not like he has anything to be afraid of, visiting an ally and all. I just expected a lot more from this guy we now call president.

I think any president should be drinking Sam Adams by default.

I'll probably check back in on the dance after school starts, which is only a couple of weeks. Also I've been trying to interest new Ashevillains Dryad and Jhay in coming out to see Shakespeare. But until they get jobs they can't seem to go anywhere or do anything. Don't be surprised though, if you see us out there.

I've only recently started to "learn" to drink beer. Always stuck to cider or hard stuff. The Peche is really nice. Let me know if you try it. And can I ask a super dumb question? I was told, but forgot. What the fuck is IPA again? I feel so lame in my attempts to learn!

I have not seen Moon but the poster looks awesome and I've heard good things. It's Bowie's son who did it? What is it about? I have not seen a film in so painfully long but I'm excited that Oscar season is approaching at least.

Oh and P.S.....speaking of our president again...I just bought a new fragrance oil called...Obama. Only in West Philly, one can presume. It's delicious.

Hello!

This is a prefabricated message (definitely copy pasted) to say thank you for leaving a comment on my new set. I would totally write you something sweet and personal but unfortunately I have laundry to do and dogs to feed... and....

Yeah, ok. I'm just lazy wink

Thank You!
