I had to drive from Perth to Newman on Monday to start work on a new site. It was about 1200km and took me around 14 hours. I really wasnt looking forward to it in the begining but by the end I really enjoyed it and was sorry when it was over. Its definitely a great way to see some of the country. Although most of it looked like this.

I stayed in Newman that night in a roadhouse, bad bed plus a fuckin epic thunder and lightening storm meant I got no sleep that night. Got up at 04.30 the next morning to drive another 250 km out to site and though the thunder had stopped, there was still alot of lightening stricks. It was kinda surreal as it was still pretty dark and everything was so quite. Tried to get some pics but it was to dark.

So other than that I'm just happy to be back in the routine of work, to much time off with nothing to do dosent suit me.
P.S. the picture quality sucks cause they were taken at 120km/hr through a bug splattered windscreen

OK, where to start.... its been a pretty intense, action packed last few days. I'm really only able to gather my few coherent toughts together today.
It all started on Thursday night for me, met up with a friend I havent seen in about a year. Got pretty much wasted checking out some beers and ales from a couple of Freemantles micro breweries. Crashed out on her couch and ended up sleeping it out the next morning. But one $90 taxi ride, stopping off to grab my bags, I made it to the airport barely on time and with a killer hangover.
Friday and Saturday night seemed to have passed far to fast. I've been reading other peoples blogs in the last few days and they have sumed up my feeling better than I could. What a really awesome time, without douth the best time I've had since I came to Australia. It was really great to meet so many awesome people, I totally felt overwhelmed by it all but I seriously cant wait for next year.
Once again mant thanks to those who put so much effort into organising it, you all did an unbelievable job.
I've spent the last couple of days, just relaxing and detoxing... haha. I had to do a medical this morning for work, then finally got my taxes sorted out. That went far better than I hoped so I was in a pretty good mood allready. But then I got an email saying that my 457 sponsored visa has come through, I'm so fuckin stoked to finally have this sorted. I can finally start looking forward to the future and actually be able to plan further than 2 weeks ahead. I could actually have residency in maybe 6 months time. So fuckin excited..... even going back to work cant put me in a bad mood.

Finished up the project I was working on in Karratha so got demobed early. Flew back in to Perth last night and have spent today sleeping, playing guitar (badly), doing washing
< and working on my bike
with a few good tunes on in the backround. Pretty sweet. Plus Im gonna go into town an get hammered tonight I think.
Then got a medical and inductions starting on Monday and will probably be heading off to the next job on Thursday and then wont be back till mid September, which is good for the bank balance but dosent really give me any time to get a bloody costume sorted for the ball. It will probably all work out, Im an "organise things at the very last minute' type of person anyway.

I slept for 15 hours straight last night but I'm still tired
I havent eaten in 2 days but I'm not hungry.
Ive got so much stuff I have to get done when Im in Perth but really couldnt be bothered.
I was supposed to be collecting the back wheel for my bike but its still not ready, its been 2 bloody months.
I was supposed to be moving into a new house with a swimming pool, hugh workshop, bbq area etc but 2 of the other fuckers pulled out at the last minute cause its to far from the city. fuckers, I was all excited.
I was supposed to be going out tonight for sushi and belgian beer with a friend but she has to work late.
I'm not sure where I'm going with this blog, I neeed sleep..
On a more positive note I've applied for a 457 sponsored visa, while its not really what I wanted to do as it gives my employer far to much control over me, it will keep me in the country working for a while longer
