Aisha and I played hooky yesterday, calling in sick. We try to do this a few times a year. Aisha does net get the three day weekends everybody else does, and she puts in four or five hours on Saturdays. I just watched Friday Night Lights. A pretty good film. Some of the players for Carter High School complained that they were portrayed as thugs. They were. Perhaps not on the football field. Many players were, however, involved in a series of thefts. Armed, but not violent. They just wanted the money. It was "just for kicks."

Yesterday, we had a magnificent brunch. The art of making a great deal of egg Benedict for a large number people has been discovered here. Big egg station, my one complaint is that ham was the only meat to get in your omelettes, but the fresh salsa to spoon over it more than made up for it. Carving station actually sliced the roast beef instead of shaving it! Crisp bacon, great sausage with natural casing. The juice was from concentrate, but still very tasty. This might have to become a tradition.
Then, time for the heavy lifting. Moving Wendy into her new place. As I mention below, Wendy did not have a lot of stuff. Her roomie was nowhere in sight, she probably just staid away to give Wendy space. Very nice apartment. Just too many clothes, and we only managed to get a couple of thousand pairs of shoes. We finished up tonight, and then we went far out of our way to get a late Tex Mex dinner. Many many libations of the margarita species. Including the legendary Cadillac variety.
It is damn frustrating to be working on this NSA mess, sleep next an agent with the NAS, and not being able to ask questions. She is doing her job; keeping secrets. I do not know anything, but I am guessing that Aisha does not really know anything, and I am guessing what she does has nothing to do with gathering intelligence. I will further speculate that she neither knows nor cares how the information is acquired. I could be totally wrong. Maybe she just listens to your cell phones all day. I have no idea what she does.

This is not quite true. Obama said "Thank you, Planned Parenthood. God bless you. God bless America." Close enough. Birk is as pro life as Obama is pro choice. This is a debatable issue, and it is not my point.

Los Angeles, yes. Las Vegas and Portland? Sure, though I doubt that Portland has the will to build a stadium. The fucked up a sure fire MLB bid by refusing to build a stadium
What about Canada? A decade or so ago, the CFL pushed into the US to try and get into the NFL. It did not work, and the thinking of the CFL has changed. They have little interest in merging with the NFL. Further, NFL fans in Canada can see many games, and, if they want to, maybe get to a game or two,
That being said, the NFL should try to gauge interest in places like Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver.
After US cities that show interest. People in Alabama, Arkansas, and Mississippi love thier football. There is great university tradition, and they love their Tide, Tigers, Bulldogs, Rebels,and Hogs, among others. Is there enough interest in an NFL team there?
