Hope you had a great St. Valentine's Day!

Roses everywhere! 48 around the house.

Maggie told us last week that we would have a half day yesterday, only the morning, and only in the afternoon toady. The point was to spend as much time with our beloveds, and not worry about getting up early today. Kristina still looked exhausted when she came in. Good for her.

Maggie does this because she wants us to be married. I have no idea if she thinks that married people make better workers, or she just loves being married and the rest of us would love it to. She has asked me several times "When are you going to marry that girl?" I just tell her that whenever Aisha is ready. I do not tell her that I have asked a few times, and Aisha always declines.

There is a flower shop close to the office, and I made my order last week. Single roses for a ll the women in the office. Arrangements of a half dozen each for Courtney and Megan, to be delivered between 1:00 and 3:00,and a dozen boxed for Aisha. Yesterday, I bought a dozen Godiva dark chocolate coverd cherries, Aisha's favorite. So, I went out just before we shut down, and doled out roses and plain old devil's food cupcakes, and picked up the box. Aisha likes to arrange the flowers herself.

The arrangements came around two, before Megan got home. One for each dresser. Megan got home about three, with a dozen roses for Courtney and a half dozen boxed for Aisha. Right after that, there was another delivery, which Megan insisted on getting. She brought up an arrangement for me! Nice, fairly masculine, with some orange flowers, a couple of big leaves, and three bamboo sticks. I was surprised and thanked her profusely.

Courtney got home and the usual time, with a dozen roses for Megan and a half dozen for Aisha, Aisha got home a little bit later, with nothing. Megan and I had dressed by then, since we have casual dress codes. We went off to 1789, the top restaurant in Georgetown. Supposedly. The food was excellent (that which I had), and presented magnificently. I eat and drink plain, and do not eat seafood. The girls were happy, though; they do not get to eat fancy food unless we go out. My rack of lamb was excellent, four ribs, sliced in half, on a bed of mashed potatoes, with lots of butter, chives, and garlic.

We got home happily satiated and tipsy. Aisha asked for a double shot of Maker's Mark, her favorite bourbon right now, straight up. Our lovemaking on weeknights is generally rather mechanical, perfunctory, an orgasm for Aisha so that she can get to sleep. It was longer and better last night.

Best of all, there were no problems left over from the weekend. Both Courtney and Megan were very happy and sparkly. Probably due a few to many male glances for some of the women there. Sorry about that, ladies.

The Feast of Saint Valentine is the celebration of a Roman bishop who was executed for marrying lovers against the decree of Claudius II. There is no reason not to cherish your lover ervery...single...day. So listen to your girlfriend, gentlemen, and do what she says. Find out what she wants, and give it to her.

Glad things went well and you guys had a great day.

Yeah, a lot of people don't know the history behind the holiday, though it's not overly surprising, as I'd wager most think it's a Hallmark Holiday.

I think they've made up like 20 holidays? Something like that, I saw that when I was looking up the origins of Sweetest Day, which come from Cleveland.

That was his confirmation name? I was Alexis, the saint for my Birthday, looking back it was a bad choice I wish I had picked someone I had more in common with, but he was rather rare and hardly any one knew anything about him.

My cousin (a girl) picked Raphael, and she caused a shitstorm at her Catholic school for doing that. biggrin
