Here are seven new drawings for you. Fidel and the battle between the banana and the box were done on Sunday when I was at home. It was the only thing I really felt like doing, drawing is awesome that way. Last night I met up with my friend Ben, we drew for a few hours. He left, and I stayed to draw. I ended up going to this bar down the street by myself and drank whiskey and started drawing the mob with the TNT. I rather enjoyed that combo. I got down around 11:30pm and walked to downtown to catch my bus home. A pretty good evening if you ask me. Enjoy the drawings!

Today I just found out that I'm featured on this really awesome consumer eco-friendly website. Check out the top right side of their home page.

Here is some background about evo.com:
"About EVO

EVO provides a huge selection of green products, services, and information all in one place. So far we've handpicked 400 companies representing more than 20,000 green products and services. From hybrid vehicles to home furnishings, our goal is to make it easy for you to make greener choices every day. So go ahead. Start greening your tree."

It is 100% official, I'm going to Tokyo Japan from the 14th of may through the 21st. Tokyo hosts one of the largest craft/art exhibitions in Asia. The show is called Design Festa, and has 53,000 visitors and 7,000 exhibitors. It looks amazing. So I'm going Hon Solo for a week, the show is over the weekend. I want to make sure that I have enough time there to draw a lot, take an insane amount of pictures and see about some retailer contacts that I have there. It is going to be pretty dang incredible. The hotel I'm staying at is this rad place that has these single rooms, that are the size of a walk-in closet. For me, that is perfect and more then enough.

Design Festa vol.27
Date: May 17 (Sat) & 18 (Sun), 2008
Open: 11:00 - 19:00
Place: Tokyo International Exhibition Center "TOKYO BIG SIGHT"
West Hall 1, 2, 3, 4, Atrium & Outdoor

Here are some random comics from last week or so. Enjoy.

This week has been pretty rad. I have been drawing a lot.

Tuesday at our place we had our first weekly comic night. There were four of us all doing stuff. It was pretty rad. My friend Jesse started drawing butts from one of my human anatomy drawing books. Shortly thereafter it became a "Butt-Off" of who could draw the best butt.

Wednesday night Brad and I went to our first craft night. That was super rad too. We met a lot of cool folks in the Seattle area. I also ran in my friend Jonathon from Arizona there. I drew comics there as well.

Have not been around here for a bit. This week has been a little fast moving for me. I had a crazy trip to Vancouver with my friend Hope. Starting on Sunday evening Hope flew in, we made our attempt to Canada - got to Lynwood and got stuck in a snow storm. My truck did not make it far. We had to get tire chains and they royally fucked my tire-wells up. Oh well, it is just a car and metal. Monday in the afternoon we made it up there. Tuesday she went to film and I went on this insane adventure by myself. I took a ton of photos and walked around Vancouver for about 5 hours. My goal was to get a ton of reference photos for the comics that I'm working on. SUCCESS! Came back on Wednesday to Seattle. The next two days were a mixture of getting small things done like taxes and visiting a few of my stores.

Highlight: On Friday a rad guy named Joshua wrote about me in his BLOG. Click on that, to check it out.

Here are a few drawings I did this week.

I'm helping a friend out working at her bookstore one day a week in Wallingford. It is this rad little store right off of 45th Ave called Alphabet Soup. On Thursday nights there are not a lot of folks that come in to the store, so I sit there and draw for most of the time or I read the books there. Oh, yes it is a children's book store - but oh my; there are so many amazing books there. The best part, almost all have pictures in them. It is like a little slice of heaven for four hours.

Ok, so on the the drawings:

Teaching Screen Printing at Meadowdale High School

My day started about 5:45am this morning. I woke up - took a shower got dressed and ready. From that point; since I was super proud to dress myself I got everything ready for the day.

The kids created their own artwork, I got to burn the screens and have them all ready for them. At the beginning of the class I talked about the whole process from prepping your screens, to artwork, burning, setting up the press and printing. It was a challenge to condense that much information in to 30mins of dialogs. It really seemed like all the kids were really in to the process and the possibilities of what they could do artistically. I'm really glad I didn't sound like a jackass answering their questions. I was terrified they were going to ask me something super complex and I would answer like this, "huh.... huh... the thing about that is...." then bolt out the door in embarrassment.

The printing was of course the best part. We had a total of six screens and eight compositions of artwork from the students. They all got to take turns printing their collective artwork on the shirts or other apparel items that they brought in. They all seemed super amazed and happy with how their artwork printed. The little side comments in the background were the best to listen to about their printing project.

Here are some pictures from the day:
