Have you ever come face to face with a night that contained no wind?
Where the only thing going on outside is what was happening within?
No life no death not even a movement
Just me and myself and nothing more to it
Sounds far away not one of them near
Nothing my conscious can pick up no high or low decibels to hear
Me where I stand and where I walk to
Stop and stare left to right not even the trees move
No traffic to avoid no neighbors in the windows
Wet my finger stick it out just to see which way the breeze blows
It won’t take me anywhere it won’t make me free
I now realize the only thing changing my destiny is me.
