Being off all week is a nice break. Hells yeah.

My holiday weekend was decent, but Inga and I had to split up between our families for a handful of reasons. It fun for things to be "different" for a day, but after 48 hours you really start to miss having the lady around.

Thinking about going record shopping in the rain today. I love and hate buying like 4 albums at once. But I always end up doing it!

Crap its already xmas time!

Not ready for all the busy-busy that accompanies this wonderful time of the year.

That and EVERYBODY keeps asking me what I want for xmas. Its more than annoying. I have no answer. The only thing I want is to see the Bears on the Superbowl ticket.

Been awhile since I wrote in here and I'm not sure why.

Earlier this week, Inga and I went to see Mobius Band and Tom Vek. Went to the show for the Mobius Band. They were awesome, and very funny fellas. They played a great mix of stuff from their album and their EPs. Maybe like 9 songs total. (which is a perfect show length for me)

I had only heard a few Tom Vek mp3s and thought he was okay. Something about him bugged me. His music is okay, but its not really my thing. After about 4 songs my ear drums honestly started to hurt. It was obscenely loud in the small Schubas gig room. (For whatever reason the sound during Mobius Band was fine) A couple minutes into the fifth song, the noise was really bothering me, so I asked Inga if she thought it was loud, and she agreed. We turned around and proceeded to leave, and I mouthed "ITS TOO LOUD" to my friend who was standing behind us. We went out to the bar, finished our beers and let our ears cool off.

The next day Inga said, "Did you know Tom Vek is a graphic designer too? I was reading about him today.", I didn't know, and then I immediately realized why he bugged me!

yeah halloween.

my Marc Summers costume killed at both parties we attended. before we left the house last night, i told inga "i was born to be Marc Summers" (i was serious) "LOOK at my hair. its perfect!!" i attribute my success to my overwhelming confidence.

i did have to give respect to one girl who dressed as Vicky from Small Wonder. She had a little blinking control box on her back and everything. it was the best.

i do hope chiken came up with a better costume than "greaser".

Pretty good, pretty, pretty, gooood.

yeah. awesome extended weekend. Chiken and Foz were in town to see the big ole SG show. it was slightly tamer than I thought it would be, but it was definintely very hot.

spent alot of time in bars this weekend, kinda feel like I need some major detox. speaking of bars, i think the mutiny is one of my new favorite bars. it smells like piss, and is very very dark inside. but theres something about that piss smell. Actually, i think i like it because I can walk to it. is that so wrong?

after all that awesomeness, I am ready for a nice routine week. Looking forward to digesting all the new music Foz shared with me.

GO sox!

Nice productive weekend. Printed 2 new tshirts, bought some new music and went on a canoe trip along the Chicago River from the northside down into the loop. Tonight we are having a chili cookoff. 8 different chilis going HEAD to HEAD! I've been snacking on ours all afternoon with fritos.

Next weekend should be even more awesome.

Haven't had a minute to jot this down until now…

Saturday night was low-key. We were tired from the night before, and actually hadn't stayed in on a weekend night in long time, so it sounded like a good night to cook some dinner and catch up on netflix.

We were watching Annie Hall, when at about 10:30 my upstairs neighbor (and landlord) calls my phone and asks if we are running an Airport network from our apartment. I said, "yes", and then she said, "are you guys at home?" "yeah, we're here"

"well, my friend Johnny is here, and he was hoping you could help him out."

[Her friend Johnny is none other than Johnny Marr from The Smiths.]

"Oh — He wants to talk to you." 2 seconds later we are talkin' Macs to each other. It was the pinnacle of my nerd lifetime.

He ended up having to come downstairs to our place because the 128bit encryption password is a bit of bitch to recite over the phone. Unfortunately we never got it working. Not sure what the techincal difficulty was. But at the time, I felt really lame for letting him down like that.

The next day we ran into each other outside the building and I offered to just turn the password thing off, if he's going to be in town for awhile. (a solution that didn't occur to me until later the previous evening) He said that would be cool, but he was leaving the next morning so wasn't worth it. But "next time" we should try that. hah. Awesome.

Risking updating the journal at work. How awesome am I? Had a heck of an extended weekend away from all things normal. I was way up in Brainerd, Minnesota. Its very sad and depressing up there. On the way home, we passed through a few interesting looking towns, St. Croix being the neatest.

While in Brainerd, I captured this hilarious window decal. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see the driver of the vehicle. I'm sure she's a looker.

Roar! Glad it is already the weekend again. Going to see a show tonight at the Beat Kitchen. Should be good. Really ready for the beer right now though.

Does anyone like Modeselektor? The new album is vicious.

Pretty awesome weekend. I am too weak and tired to write down much about it besides Chiken was there, and we ate a lot of meat.

I am really tired today.

Last night one of my friends and I had an Arrested Development Premiere Party! Shortly after the show ended, we realized that itis kinda hard to have a big party for a show that's only 30 minutes long. Fortunately, we didn't let it bother us too much. We had one of those mini gallon kegs of Warsteiner. Good stuff. I was suprised at how many drinks we got out of the 'lil thing. 10 whole pints. Not bad for $16.99.

Then, we decided that 5 pints wasn't enough, so we ended up breaking out the whiskey. It was nice single-malt stuff, Balvenie, I think. Not smart. So yeah, its about 7, and I am ready for sleep.
