Well another Martin Luther King day gone by and haven't really done much for it besides the usual drinking and Xbox use. I'm just wondering though; who really does anything for the man anymore? Sure some churches may have special services, and other activists may have special events but by and large it's just a holiday for people in the American government to sit around. This is not to say I don't appreciate the time off, but I want to point out the fact that nobody on the majority does anything to honor the civil rights leader anymore. I would prefer that all leaders in civil rights be honored for a day in February given the fact that it's actually Black History month in the states. There are just so many more to remember than just Dr. Martin Luther King; like Crispus Attucs, Emmitt Till, Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, the Tuskegee Airmen. The list goes on and on but we choose just one guy because that's the one the government chose to say, "sorry" about. Honestly a day isn't enough for any one person's life cut short. Even more candidly I can't readily decide on one course of action to fix this. Let me think about it.
