Elisabeth Sladen, a star sidekick of the "Doctor Who" series and a popular children's show actress, has died of cancer Tuesday, the BBC said. She was 63.

Wow. I had no idea. My parents watched "Doctor Who" a lot and I am sure she is more familiar to them than I. I hate to hear that she had to suffer with cancer
