Well, I went with my gut. Rebeca and I were planning out when she'd be able to meet me, and I just asked her point blank, via text, what are we doing? If you don't want to get back together with me, just say so. So she said she doesn't want to get back together right now. A part of me is foolish enough to want to cling to that "right now," but the rationalist in me knows that she and I are through. I'm done with her, and ready for someone new. I would have needed some rebound-proofing if she hadn't led me on the past few weeks, but I'm better now. I feel better than James Brown.
