I'm back from the gray. Basically I turned the auto renewal off b/c my financial situation is dodgier than Dick Cheney's heart, and I waited til I was sure I'd have the cash to renew.

Nothing burns me up more than free speech trampling. You'd think the payment/sign up procedure would save us from the imbecilic rules of the current admin. Apparently not. Anyone know why we weren't spared?

I gradumatated. And then disappeared apparently. Boo. Yeah.

And started grad school.

Oh, and I'm on a National Poetry Slam team...the first ever from Delaware! BOOOOYEAH!

Just saw constantine. I went in not expecting much, but it really good. Quite amusing, excellent cinematography, interesting plot twists. Very good pic. Now, I understand that Keanu isn't the greatest actor in the world, but I've never minded him. I think he's far superior to Leonardo and his movies get nominated for shit..

Anyway, I highly recommend it.

How fucking exciting was the new quinne set?! I had just enough free time to stare jawdroppingly at that set and then go back to C++ or social spych...or whatever the fuck i was doing that day.

Semester's about to start and i'm sick...again. Oh well.

I'm going to iWPS next week in Worcester Mass, to watch the first poets from my home poetry slam, and the first from delaware, compete at the national level! It'll be awesome! And plus they have lots of fun side events and slams that hannah and I will be participating in. If anyone else is going or wants more info about it lemme know. I can't wait. Plus I'll get to see a friend of our we don't get to see much because she lives in boston.

This time, it's got a beat and you can dance to it. Or at least, that's what Hannah is saying while I am playing it for her now. Also, Joe B., this awesome kid who has a solo project called Methadrone, is really into what we're doing and seems interesting in collaborating. I could have skweejed my shorts. His shit's crazy-good and awesome.

In the meantime, hopefully I'll update again soon. Sooner than 3 months from now, at least.

This week has been interesting. DSWA loved our designs for the new recycling containers. I think we've really come up with something cool.

This coming tuesday I will be featuring at my local poetry reading! I've gone nearly every tuesday for over 2 years, and in that time only two other regulars have ever featured. One of them was because she was leaving (although she is awesome and totally deserved a feature anyway) and the other because...well...Bob rules. And now me. The October feature was kinda up for grabs, and when (tada) Rich the host found out I was about to release my first book of poetry, he gave me the feature. I'm excited...yet...nervous! Most of the features are nationally known poets and slam poets...who have competed (and often won) at the nation poetry slam many times. I'm not quite up to the same standard as those awesome folks like Tony Brown, Rachel Kann, Beau Sia, Taylor Mali, etc etc. But regardless it should be fun....


Anyway...related and sort of already mentioned....that feature next tuesday is the release of my first book of poetry entitled "Aqua Marine." I've been planning this for a long time and kept putting it off longer and longer. Finally got it done and printed. The art for every cover I partially hand-stamped....so every cover is a little different. I'm excited!



Also, this week my band i, fanblades released our first recording. An EP called Sunset Manifesto. We're all weird though...so we only got 37 copies made...and once those are gone we'll refused to make more. Response so far has been good. Everyone seems to like it...although they're all a bit confused by it...it's not normal stuff. It's spoken word insanity mixed with ambient/drone/noise and experimental bullshit...in one 18 minute track. Recorded it 4 weeks ago about...got it mastered 2 weeks ago...got the cds from the printer a week ago and then printed all the covers plus put all the cases together. It comes with one of two covers...one designed by me and one designed by Nigel (my co-conspirator)

If anyone wants a copy... My chapbook is $4 and the cds are $3. You can find the cds on ebay too...just search i, fanblades. I'd be willing to trade too...send me a book of your poetry and i'll send you one of mine. Or send me a cd of your band and i'll send you a cd of mine. It'll be fun to share!
